For the London art gallery The Curve, French artist Céleste Boursier-Mougenot. created a walk-though aviary for a flock of zebra finches, furnished with electric guitars and other musical instruments.
As the birds go about their routine activities, perching on or feeding from the various pieces of equipment, they create a captivating, live soundscape. If you live in London, the free exhibition is open to the public from Feb. 27-May 30 from 11am-8pm, and late at night on Thursdays until 10pm.
The funny thing about this artwork is I’ve spent many evenings as a gratudate student in art school listening to “experiemtnal” sound art which sounds pretty much like this. Rock me out birds!

Do the birds hear the noise or is it siphoned off to a listening space?
I think it would make the birds ill if they could hear the sound being made all the time.
Quite interesting. I guess the birds can hear the noise.
