A 14-year-old Girl Scout is trying to convince people not to buy Girl Scout cookies until the GSUSA reverses its decision to allow in Bobby Montoya, a 7-year-old trans girl. If you can stand to watch in full the stilted, ignorant, judgmental video she posted explaining her position, you have a stronger stomach than I.
Judging from the majority of commenters on Joe My God, Dangerous Minds, and my Twitter feed, this will only have the effect of boosting cookie sales this year, as it seems people are no longer willing to put up with (let’s face it) bigots using their children as puppets to bully and ostracize other more vulnerable children. I’m already calling my family back States-side to buy some boxes on my behalf. I’ll pay extra for shipping! Mmmmm, Thin Mints and Tagalongs for great justice!

They think they figure out who she is.

Her repeated calls for safety concerning the trans girl are disturbing as though she going to get raped by her. If this really is her concern why not just say “This trans girl could rape us?”
Afraid of being raped by a girl half one’s age, who’s probably just learned to tie her shoes. And I thought MY paranoid fantasies were bizarre.
And I still want cookies.
the video has been made private now. I’m guessing this was done after all the backlash the video got. Not like I could bring myself to watch a minute of that video before getting too pissed off.
that article Marc posted is rather interesting, doesn’t surprise me though, these types of bigots always have a hidden agenda.
She must have skipped the day they were working on their social good badges. Ironically her proposed boycott does nothing to hurt the Girl Scout chapter that had the trans girl in their group.
As I understand every chapter gets to keep the money they sell from Girl Scout cookies, so a boycott in Califonira (where the blogger is located) would have had NO impact on the National organization or the chapter in Colorado where the trans girl went.
