Public figure and author Gore Vidal has died at the age of 86. In one of televisions most memorable moments he had a fight with Norman Mailer on the Dick Cavett Show. Mailer became so belligerent that the ever sauve Cavett told him to stick it.
Gore Vidal was proceeded in death by his partner of 53 years.
