One very important note on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act:
The Act would not apply to any religiously-oriented business, such as the archdiocese for which Fausto worked.
Groups such as the American Family Association have told their flock that the opposite is true–or at least eventually would be true. People have been led to believe that their churches could be forced to hire gay people (as if that would be a bad thing) or risk being sued, and I believe that this has been a major reason that passing the Act has been delayed for years now.
I think Allison is fabulous!! I too am a straight woman who works toward equality… I am a member of the HRC and I work for a LGBT Community Center! So Good for you Allison!!
