“Where the Lord closes a door, somewhere He opens a window.” This memorable quote from the fabulous musical film “The Sound of Music” comes to mind when thinking about the sad news on peace activist […]

Hey Ronnie… how about the Vana Va-Voom, or the Ronnie Rocker, for a sex toy name? 🙂

(I’m sorry if I mis-spelled your last name)

  2. Another fabulous podcast as always. BIG HUGS

  3. It was nice to hear you guys talk about politics for a change. Bought some DRM-free McCartney through the site. Luv Ya

Great show guys! I’m so glad that I wasn’t the only one that saw what happened on the View as more than just another to bash Rosie once more – it was definitely an opportunity for her to explain herself as well as to ask the question: why are we made to feel that we can’t criticize this administration without being made to feel like we don’t support the troops. This Memorial Day was especially bittersweet seeing my Navy brother just a few months before he goes overseas..

  5. Mo- please know that your brother’s safety is in our thoughts.

Patchouli- how was the hi-rez DRM-free McCartney music like to you? Did you like it better? Can you tell any difference?

  6. Vanna-Va-Voom! Now that’s a good one. I’ll try to remember that one and use it as a title for a future show.

Fausto, I’m right there with you. Okay, Yoko Ono may not have the best voice, but she is a damn good songwriter. Her songs are often about peace and love and carry a very positive message. Her music is a bit dated but her new CD has a bunch of contemporary artists taking her vocals and building new songs out of them, and they are incredible. With a good production team behind her and people who understand her work, she comes out with some amazing stuff. And yes, people laugh at the screaming, but then again, back in the day people laughed at Jackson Pollock for his wild painting style, or William S. Burroughs for his non-linear writing. If you give in to some of her recordings and let them take you they can be an intense emotional journey. It’s all a matter of perspective.

Of course, out of context, like a lot of things, they can be quite funny as well. 😉

Hi Ronnie! As promised to you, here is my comment. A big hello to all the Feast Of Fools crew from tiny Gibraltar, just to let you know you do have at least one listener here and I intend to spread the FOF love on this mediterranean half-island.

I think the shows you do are so important, and they form the backbone to my self-education as a queer person, getting such wonderful rich exposure to a culture that is denied, ignored and reviled by the mass media.

    Rock on!

PS: More music please please please! I am loving Eric Himan, Chris Garneau, Levi Kreis, Jim Verraros and Christopher Dallman!!!!

  9. Handsome Guys and Beautiful Miss Ronnie,

Thank you for today’s show. I’m not sure if its just me, but I love it when you all put your strong voices into the political fray. Even though you may feel (as I’ve heard Fausto mention) that you aren’t as informed as you could be, I think the first step is talking about it. Like you all mentioned, it starts with a well needed dialogue and besides half of these F#$%s on the TV/Radio programs don’t know what the hell they are talking about, but from what I can hear you all are very informed and come off as educated on the matters you choose to talk about. Some of these guys just have an ability to remember authors, pundits, historical dates, studies and articles because its THEIR job (or their assistant’s). I wish you all would do a sort of political day of the week, because you will be surprised how many of your listeners are political news junkies. I don’t think the topics have to be gay oriented because I’m sure you all will put a special little spin on it anyway. =)

    Much Love

    > No. They dont throw people in volcanos… But I could use Miss Ronnie over here for a bit to tell these pineappleheads how to act.

    > Don Ho’s ashes were put into the waves in front of the Royal Hawaiian in Waikiki on 5 May. And oddly enough, about a week later the daughter of the deceased was found dead in her North Shore home, an apparant Anna Nicole of the Pacific.

Hoku killed herself? OMG I loved her so much, and I totally missed the news that happened. *Sob*

  12. merboy says:

It was Dayna not Hoku that died.
