Did you hear the one about the egg-shaped Russian robocop? As far as we know, this is a true story. A Russian six-foot tall egg-shaped robot, hailed by the Russian police force as a bold […]

  1. Trey says:

I’d like to point out to Amanda three instances of *robots* with emotions (not androids, necessarily)… but Robots:
    Bicentennial Man
    A.I.
    I, Robot

Yes, I’m a dork. But these robots actually DID have emotions. Programmed or evolved? Who knows…

    So yeah.. just saying. 🙂

  2. What the! Haha, I’m lying here listening to the Feast of Fools, unable to get to sleep even though it’s 5am, when I hear you guys say my name! That was really really strange.

  3. Amanda Steinstein just called me darling!

  4. Trey, those robots were in fact all androids. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android

  5. Back again. Despite your arguments in this episode, I remain unswayed!

Cutting back to Tony, one more time, would make the dream sequence entry too explicit. You aren’t supposed to realize this during your original viewing, only your second or third or fourth or fifth. Haha, that’s the last I’ll say on this. I wasn’t ever mad, by the way. I couldn’t be mad you guys, cuz you’re too cool.

  6. Too explicit or just obvious enough to get the point across?

  7. tinotee says:

I have moon land… prime real estate in the sea of tranquility … and now they say its worthless *sob*

  8. Trey says:

Fair enough Marc… but only in AI was the Robot/Android specifically designed to take on the emotions… maybe in I, Robot as well, but not to the level of AI. Bicentennial Man dealt specifically with a robot-turned-android-turned-pseudo-human who developed and progressed into these emotions and feelings and individual personality on his own, and not by nature of design.

Granted it’s all science fiction anyways. But still fun to point out.

  9. Cliff Dix says:

I loved it when Amanda did the wicked witch voice trying to lure hot young sci-fi geeks into her cool Hogwarts lair.

  10. With Bicentennial man, you don’t just develop emotions out of the blue. Somehow, somewhere through accident or design he must have been given some capacity to develop emotions. It may not have been the designers intent, but he developed them nonetheless.

  11. Mike J says:

British Columbia has the Gulf Islands, Washington has the San Juan Islands. Same chain.. different name.

  12. Jon-paul says:

Amanda, accept it all Robots are gay! They hang out at “The Stud” in San Francisco on the weekends.
