    oh noes!
i was expecting the whole show to be :

“Independent musician Chris Garneau talks about his life, love and music on the Feast of Fools podcast.”

I’ve been looking forward to 40 minutes of Chris since fridaaaaayyyy *cries*

  2. Mdvanii says:

    oopsie
    Chris is on tomorrow’s show?
    pardon.

  3. Cliff Dix says:

Speaking of crying, my iMac died yesterday. Just a black screen filled with code! Glen is taking it to the Apple store tomorrow. The only problem is our desktop pictures are all gay porn stars! Oh well, what are you going to do.
Long story, short- I have to listen to the show at work. Being the token queer here at work it is nice having FOF here with me. Together, we can educated these naive straight people.
Love the soundseeing shows. Enjoyed hearing Actor Slash Model! I love them.
    xoxox from Atlanta

  4. Fausto, the song is “I’m the Only Gay Eskimo” by Corky and the Juciy Pigs http://youtube.com/watch?v=CPcYrmMNRCg

Loved the show today… the music was great. I really liked Actor Slash Model’s song … which is weird since I don’t usually like bluegrass.

    Can’t wait ’till tomorrow’s show!!!

  5. Maia says:

Brain-fork — thank you for the link! Sweet jesus, that is hilarious. I’m going to be humming that all morning now.

I love the live FOF shows. Thanks for bringing us the highlights from queerfest. I hope this will be an annual event now, so I can be there next year.

I love Actor-Slash-Model! And not only because minax said that my girlfriend is hot. 😉 (That was the highlight of Alt-Q for me.) I swear, I liked them even before that — for their music. Although they are cuties, and they always have the best costumes. Any chance you can get simon and minax on the podcast for an in-studio interview?

p.s. Cliff, I hope your iMac and its resident porn studs can be resurrected… sounds like a kernel panic. Your comment about your desktop pix made me laugh, but I am crying on the inside… hope your beloved Mac is healed soon.

  6. I’m glad that Fausto made the statement that when it comes to achieving equality and freedom from discrimination, we as GLBT people are our own worst enemies. When we stop blaming every Tom, Dick, Harry, Jane, and Rev., and take responsibility for our own path, then we will see progress. Ours is a community which crosses all ethnic, racial, gender, religious, and any other lines someone could draw, and this presence can work to our advantage if we so desire.

    The question is: do we?

  7. I really loved A/M on the show…I second Maia’s suggestion to get them in studio. The TN trannie 2 step is awesome!

  8. Those TG chicks were lame. They define themselves out of the box, but get offended when other people don’t understand where they’re coming from. I believe the words were, “call me a lady and you’ll get a black eye.” It’s like the much cooler Eskimo lesbian said, you can’t rock the boat and not expect to get wet (or something to that affect).

It’s just funny that people who don’t want to be judged are so judgmental.

  9. Maia says:

oh, I think you’re taking him too seriously, sfimporter. I took it in a feisty, humorous spirit, and I thought it was funny.
A riff on the feminist complaint of being called “ladies” (prim and rather patronizing), instead of “women”…

hey, I remember meeting Ruth at Alt-Q. Is she really native? Alaskan?

and speaking of Vernita Gray — I’d love to hear her on the podcast. I’ve heard her speak before, and she had me in stitches! “Yes, I am a lesbian. You wanna invite me to a potluck?? Bring it on!”

  10. RcktMan says:

    Speaking of judgmental….

Ahem… anyway… great show, Fausto! I’m excited to hear some great new music from everyone at the show. It sounds like the event was a success! It’s great that Chicago is becoming more queer-friendly in the music scene. With Alt-Q and Queer Fest Midwest, that’s a nice, sizable chunk of queer-friendly music just waiting to be heard. Thank you for bringing it to our ears and introducing us to some great, talented people.
