We see social inequality everywhere. As much as it may upset us sometimes, there always is a certain amount of frustration, because we don’t know how to address the situation or even if it’s any […]

  1. I’m going to be listening for my question. I’m so excited!!!

  2. EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! That was awesome!!! Hearing my name on the Feast of Fools!

Great show guys, very informative. I will pass the information along to the people I asked for.

  3. Thx for the show. Great guests too

  4. Maia says:

Thanks for having John and Shar Cepek on again. Their first FOF appearance was the first time I emailed you guys, because I was so moved by that show.

Hearing from them again warms my heart! I really admire the work they are doing, and I would be proud to have parents like them. I know my parents have accepted me and my partner as part of the family, but I’m hesitant to ask them what their political views are on lgbt equality because I don’t know if I would want to hear the answer.

Hope to hear the Cepeks on the podcast again, soon!

  5. Great show!

I know my brother’s slogans are: “We’re straight, but we’ll still kick your ass if you call my brother a f**!”
It’s a littel long, but speaks to the point and effective 😉

  6. Great show, I will have to agree on Utah stuff. We have a long way to go here.

  7. So who are the straight folks who are going to step up to the plate here and take the scared oath? 🙂

  8. groggy says:

I think it is hard for straight people to ‘come out’ as gay-rights-fighters at their workplace of social environment in general. They may face the same kind of prejudice and injustice as gay people, without being gay, so why should they bother? Therefore, knowing that there are people like this out there fills my heart with optimism and greate admiration for them.

As for the slogan (tough assignment) my proposition would be ‘Gay rights go STRAIGHT’ or ‘Straights come out for equality’.

  9. Great show. I can’t wait to share it with my mom.

  10. Maia says:

We have a lesbian friend who comes from a very outspoken family. Both her sister and her mom tell any of their new co-workers, “Just so you know, my sister/daughter is gay, so I don’t want to hear any gay jokes.” This is in Tulsa, OK. I think they’re awesome.

  11. Superboy says:

I sent a link to my workout buddy (he’s straight but not narrow) see what he does with it.

  12. Too bad they don’t tap into all the straights with Dumbledore tattoos to get them to say that I may have a gay character permanently on me but I am 100% straight. Would be really funny!

  13. Xavi says:

PFLAG, John and Char, true American heroes. Strike that. True heroes! Thanks for all the great work you do.

  14. sOrange says:

Great show! I have sent a message to all of my family. My “mother in-law” has already started listening to the show! I hope you have them Cepek’s back on your show soon to follow up with this.

  15. Just listened to this show. Excellent stuff – John and Char are a reminder of everything that’s most admirable about Americans. Liberty and equality for all!

  16. I loved listening to John and Char Cepek. I give money every year to PFLAG (I give to most national LGBT organizations) but I never really thought that much about them–that is to say, I never thought they were a particularly political or relevant group (to me, personally). I love their new “Straight for Equality” campaign, although I would lay low on the capitalist/market “gays are consumers too” propaganda–you don’t have to be invested in consumer culture and capitalism (i.e., HRC style) to believe in equality for LGBT people. I love their framing of the discussion in terms of civil rights AND cultural recognition. This initiative also reminded me about how activism in Brazil has worked for more than a decade–in Brazil, the most popular acronym is GLS (gays, lésbicas e simpatizantes= gays, lesbians, and sympathizers). Once again, Brazil has been a leader in the social integration and recognition of sexual minorities (that’s another term that’s very popular in Latin America, more than LGBT).

  17. I had not heard of PFLAG before this episode. I really like the idea of getting straight people to help fight for the rights that everyone should have. Now after hearing this episode I have more of a idea of what I can personally do to help! tHANK you FOF!
