Way back during my teenage years, before the days of the internet, I was living in San Juan, Puerto Rico without any ahem,”resources.” Thank god for those sexy International Male catalogs! I found much salvation […]

    Comments

  1. I like the model! Yummmy.

  2. Cliff Dix says:

I ordered the IM catalog for me when I was 13. So I got that along with my National Geographic World magazine for Kids. My mom didn’t seem to care. Of course when I was 13 my mom took me to a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. And by this time I was already fooling around with a neighborhood kid. 13 was a big year for me.

  3. felix says:

When I was about 15, my father also received a IM catalog and I became so obsessed with it that I began hunting for it in local magazine shops from then on. A few months later I had saved enough money to buy the sock jockstrap and I did. I think I still have it somewhere, a nice memento of more innocent days. The catalog(s) also became the main masturbatory aid for the rest of my teenage years, and sometimes it still is.

  4. bowdownza says:

-blood sausage is actually really really good, especially with eggs give it a try….
-ducks blood soup does not in fact taste anything like blood… it tastes more like a savory jam
    – after looking at the I.M.website I am embarrased to say there were at least two items I seriously considered ordering.
    – does anyone remember a time when the I.M. catalogue would show serious cock outline in the underwear section?

  5. Wow, 1st things first, Sal-E, FAB-U-LOUS pic in the green. Being an X-drag-show DJ I got to see and meet a lot of talented people and so far, I’ve been very impressed with both you and Jo-Jo’s talent. I can’t wait for my trip up there next year. I’ve even extended it for another couple days, hoping I can swing by and see ya at work on a Monday.

The show was great today. I loved that version of Greensleeves. I don’t think I could ever stomach the stomach tripe(sp?) though. As for the Gaybloggies, I feel like it’s finals week of A.I. and I’m glued to the damn screen to make sure my favorite wins.

The Bad Santa from Canada, well, I feel all kinds of naughty just thinking about the way that person is ruining xmas, but then again, I celebrate Yule, and honestly I’ve heard some really strange things. One story imparticular made me laugh so hard I cried. Apparently there’s a reason why your parents always get you clothes this holiday. An old tale goes that if your parents did work hard and make you at least one new item of clothing from that years harvest (of wool), then on xmas or yule eve, you’d be visted by the YULE CAT. A huge bear-sized feline that peaks in everyone’s windows. If he sees you wearing your new garments, he will leave your home in peace, but if he doesn’t see you wearing a new garment, well, he breaks into your home and eats you in one big gulp.

    Talk about xmas dinner.

Anywho, my finers, and toes are crossed for you Fausto, Go Fausto Go beat those other um…well, you know what I was thinking.

    See you all in June.

  6. Tommy says:

Love the episode…and damn! The models of International Male are damn fine. This guy is GORGEOUS!

  7. Buzz says:

    YAY FOR THE SAL-E!!!

Weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten is Alligator. I’ve tried Menudo and you can keep it! Ewwww..

Yeah, the IM Mags were hot, but if you really look close you can see all the airbrushing that goes on behind those pix. We used to have a huge IM store in West Hollywood, but it’s all but long gone now…

  8. ColJH says:

I’ve got plugs and cords for Sal-E!!! 😀

  9. RcktMan says:

YAY for a double-dose of SAL-E! This one had my giggling throughout the entire show. When the three of you get together it’s just fun fun fun the whole night long.

Regarding gross foods: My dad used to eat head cheese. Yes. It is every bit as disgusting as it sounds. I mean it would make me GAG it was so gross. It was basically the brains and who knows what else of a cow ground up into a deli meat. It had bits of pieces of this that with spices and it was SO NASTY. BLEAH. It’s apparently an Italian delicacy because he could only get it at the Italian deli.

Of course later on in life I discovered a different kind of head cheese, equally as gross but at least attached something more interesting….

And as far as International Male is concerned, honey I jerked off over those pages so many times it’d make your head spin.

  10. RcktMan says:

More about Head Cheese from Wikipedia… maybe this is what that guy was doing when JoJo found the skulls…

Head cheese (AmE) or brawn (BrE) is in fact not a cheese, but rather a terrine of meat from the head of a calf or pig (sometimes a sheep or cow). It may also include meat from the feet and heart. It is usually eaten cold or at room temperature as a luncheon meat. It is sometimes also known as soucemeat, particularly if pickled with vinegar.

Historically the cleaned (all organs removed) head was simmered to produce a gelatin (formed from the collagen in the bone) containing any incidental meat which came off the head. The more modern method involves adding gelatin to meat, which is then cooked in a mould.

‘Scuse me, I’m going to vomit now.

  11. My mother was just talking about Head Cheese. The would eat it at Xmas, that and pickled herring, lutefiske etc. nasty nasty nasty!

  12. Jonathan says:

I had the internet so I didn’t need to look at magazines. I was too afraid to look at porn all the time so I read a lot of erotic stories. Made me a much better reader.

  13. Maia says:

angels = “putti” … my favorite word from art history, with “contrapposto” a close second.

(Contrapposto is a good one to know… basically the precursor to the “swish.”)

Thanks for the Sal-E fix! My week is off to a much better start now…

  14. All the blood talk made me a big nauseous at the gym I must say. Haven’t eaten anything stranger than Wild Boar. Oh and I had some Wild Bore too at some point but didn’t swallow.

  15. yay for Sal-E!

love it when you 3 do shows…what ever happened to Miss Ronnie! i want her back on the show =D

  16. PupDon says:

OMG, I’m so not an International Male shopper but I want this Faux Coyote Hooded Jacket in the WORST WAY!!!

  17. Hey Sweetheart Rebel -Ronnie’s chosen to move on to other projects and doesn’t involve herself with the FOF or the community.

Please understand that we fully understand what you are going through. We miss Miss Ronnie as a guest on the show too, but in the words of Ronnie, we’re “Flipping’ that shit!” – we experienced loss and now we are looking forward to gaining new experiences.

It may sound like the old show business cliche that “The show must go on” but we really are devoting our time and energy to bring you great new shows and new guests. We aren’t going to dwell on past guests. There is a lot to look forward to and we have a lot of great shows and guests lined up for you to enjoy in the New Year.

You may be asking yourself “Why haven’t they made some sort of announcement about this on the show?” The reason is the same as above, we need to remind the listeners of what they have, not what they use to have. Our strength as a community lies in the possibilities of the future not in the past.

If you look at Ronnie’s Feast of Fools profile, https://www.feastoffun.com/community/profile.php?id=5 you’ll see that she rarely participated in or read the forums, so the best way to keep in touch with her is to contact her via her MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/mzronnie25 and tell her directly what you feel for her.

But who knows, like Victoria Lamarr she may once again rise from the dead and join us on occasion. In this life, all things are possible.

From time to time questions about past guests of the show will pop up in the forums and the comments section and rather than have to keep answering the same question, stirring up old memories and dwelling on the past, I’ll delete the comment and send a personal email to the poster pretty much relaying this same information.

Thanks for understanding Fausto Fernós and Marc Felion

  18. lis says:

Thanks for the info Marc, I’ve missed Miss Ronnie too, but I figured that things happen and people don’t always have the time or energy to give and we must respect that. I totally support the idea of not making announcements about it and going on with the show, that’s very smart and savvy thinking on your part. I really enjoyed the last two shows with Sal-E, who is always a great guest, and you have had some excellent shows in the past weeks so keep up the good work. More and more I realize all the amount of work and time and energy and editing (gasp!) that you guys put into giving us so much entertainment.
I used to think blood sausage was icky, but here in Spain I’ve tried some that was pretty good, from the Burgos area, it’s made with blood and rice. Calf testicles is probably the weirdest thing I’ve eaten, I think, after trying all the other innards, which I don’t much care for, so I wont eat menudo, but that has more to do with the texture than the taste, but I am adventurous about food, I like to try it all, you never know when you might end up really liking something. When you guys come over to España, if you want to try some of the interesting and funky stuff the Spaniards eat, I’ll take you places where you can try it.
    besos,
    lis

  19. awww well i understand that things do happen but thank you for letting us know. i also agree with you on not making an announcement about it. i just grew curious as to what happened since i havent heard her on the show for some time.

i’ll just cherish the past shows hehe but hey, i do love Sal-E so the past 2 shows were wonderful! =]

    thank you marc!

  20. Leo says:

To day is December 21, 2007. I just listen to the show. Hello Guys, love to listen to you guys as I work. I will agree with you Fausto that most of the reason for the vilence in school is becasue of lack of activites to keep school aged people entertained. I would also like to add that the curriculum in school has been dum down so that way Gorge Bush progam of no child left behind can pass. Blam it on the media to make note of these types of stories to distract us.

Hello Mark and Sal-E. Keep up the good work.

  21. We have the similar foods in Scotland – Blood Sausage is called ‘Black Pudding’ and is fried as part of a breakfast. The cow’s brains are called ‘Potted Hoch’ and the cow’s stomach – ‘Tripe’ – is usually poached in milk with onions. It makes me glad I’m a vegetarian!

International Male isn’t so international! I’d never heard of it but I do fancy the After Hours Velvet Loafers!

Best of luck with the bloggies, Fausto. I’ve been voting. And Merry Christmas guys with all the best for 2008.
