My gal pal Amanda looks a little pale today. She’s down a pint, and we’re not talking about drinking beer. We’re still trying to figure out why Amanda Steinstein loves to donate blood so gosh […]

I feel smarter after listening to today’s show. Not only have you guys expanded my vocabulary you helped me find those hard-to-find Dr. Who YouTube videos. Jonas is so adorable. Jonas, I hope your visit was fantastic. Everything Jonas said about Amanda is absolutely true. She is warm, friendly, and fun to be around.
The Red Cross policy about gay men giving blood makes my blood boil. If a straight man has sex with a prostitute he can give blood a year later but if your gay and had sex with a man once since 1975 or something like that you are banned for life. The right wing says attempts at overturning this policy is obviously part of the gay agenda to destroy the health of the US. And then when a disaster hits and people need blood those are the ones who suffer from this out of date policy. Stupid right wingers. No common sense or compassion.

P.S. When Glen and I were in Chicago we saw Jerry Springer too. Oprah tickets were impossible to get but they were brining people in off the streets to fill the Springer audience. Soon we found ourselves screaming at someone’s 300 lbs mamma to take it all off! I still haven’t seen our episode.

  2. Michael says:

Great show boys. Amanda does give good ice cream, and thanks for the shout out!

I’ve been to Springer and it was hilarious, but I agree that the waiting thing was a pain in the a$$. Oprah is almost impossible to get into, but Judge Mathis calls me ALL the time because they must need bodies in the audience.

  3. Jonas says:

Aw, thank you Cliff. My visit was indeed fantastic, much due to the great people I got to meet. Amanda was exactly how I figured she’d be from listening to the show: genuinely nice, fun and intelligent – a combination which I find truly compelling. Thus it’s hard to not like her.

Is Jerry Springer the Opera worth seeing btw?

  4. Rich says:

I recently had a “you park like a dick” note left on my car. It was essentially the same situation, where the other cars that were misaligned caused me to park less than perfectly, but when the kind person who left the note returned, felt I was to blame. Amanda you should scan the note and send it in to passiveaggressivenotes.com. I love that website.

  5. Rhea says:

I left a bitchy note on a badly parked car once, and my father admonished me for doing so, telling me that one day I will encounter a situation where, through no fault of my own, I will not be able to park between the lines, and I too will incur someone’s wrath.

Today’s podcast just showed me another example of how an act of meanness gets you nowhere. Sure, it may feel good at the time, but you’ll regret it eventually. I’m sorry that happened to you, Amanda! 🙁

Jonas, you are a hoot and a half. The FOF international community rocks!

  6. I don’t know anything about the opera, but I would go see it if I had the chance. I heard it’s great.

  7. RcktMan says:

Awwwww! I wish I could have joined you all that evening – would have been so fun. Darn my stupid job. 🙁

Great show — poor Jonas didn’t say much, but he sure is a cutie. 🙂

I had a great time rooming with Amanda at PrideFest – even though we spent most of that first day just staring out the window watching the rain fall and the lightning flash, while watching the weather on TV. Sigh. Oh well, we still had fun!

  8. Saman says:

Thanks for the shout out guys. I was surprised to know how much you guys knew about Sri Lanka. I too believe Amanda is always sweet. Amanda, I do not speak with an accent but it was funny listening to Marc.

By the way, I made a comment in the page about the Pakistani drag queen and hope to hear a feed back. Patricia, have you seen those Indian movies I named there?

  9. I love feeling in touch with our international fans. You know, up til about 15 years ago, the word was “foreign.” TV news would always say “foreign countries” and “foreign policy.” Then CNN started using “international,” since they were already seen in other countries, and “foreign” doesn’t cut it when you’re out there. So yeah, I heart our INTERNATIONAL fans.

And as much as I would love to travel the world and meet you all, it’s probably best for now that you just come to Chicago once in a while.

For you local fans…hope to see you at Pridefest this weekend!

    Kisses,
    -AS

it’s always great to listen to Amanda, she makes me laugh out loud in public!!

you should come to Singapore, Amanda!

Larry Sinclair has thus far failed to produce a single viable piece of evidence. Is it any wonder nobody in the mainstream media wants to risk their career and credibility covering this farce?

I’ve been trying to get Mr. Sinclair to response to questions on his blog (simple ones, like “If you think Obama’s phone records would prove you right, why don’t you provide your phone records, they should work just as well, right?” ), but the blog is so heavily moderated that not one single real question can get through, and apparently even his own worshipers are now having a hard time posting due to overaggressive comment deletion.

Legally and morally, the burden is on Sinclair to prove his allegations, not on Obama to disprove them. Larry Sinclair knows this, but he is banking (quite literally) on the fact that the court of public opinion operates quite differently than a court of law, and isn’t making any substantial effort to prove his accusations.

I know several people who’ve tried to ask questions of Mr. Sinclair, but that is apparently not allowed on his blog, despite the fact that his blog clearly states “You may comment on any post, regardless of your position. However, please note that any and all abusive, threatening and vulgar comments and emails will result in your user name, email address and IP address being posted regardless and without the posters permission. You have been warned.” .

Small wonder, huh? The guy who wants to force Obama to answer his questions will not answer anyone else’s 🙂

I personally would love it if someone in the media just exposed this guy for the fraud he is. I’d watch that episode for certain, and I’m sure the advertisers would be well pleased by the number of viewers 😉

  12. Your first show I listened to featured Amanda so she has always had an affinity in my heart next to marc and fausto of course. When I listened to this show I just loved amanda more cause I still had my pink bandage on from donating blood : ).

  13. We have the same policy on blood donation here (UK). I’d be happy to give blood and husband would like to too as his mother had quite a lot of transfusions when she was giving birth to him.
