The new reality tv show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” may be a hit, but “where’s the drama mama?” It’s not like drag queens don’t know how to throw a little shade. On today’s show we have […]

I LOVE RuPaul’s Drag Race and I hope you have more contestant’s on! I love FoF too. I think this episode would have been better if you hadn’t interrupted & talked over Jade so much. Great pick of guest!

  2. That’s how conversations go Skippy. We get that complaint from listeners that we talk over guests from time to time or interrupt them. Sometimes we do talk over them. Sometimes we do it to move the conversation forward. We often do it to save them from their own meandering. We do not edit much like you are use to on TV or radio. It is organic. Conversation is not an exact science. It is an art much like an impressionistic painting. You often paint in broad strokes and you must leave lots of space for different shades of conversation. Some of it is talk over or interruption. It is not black and white. It is not he said, she said. It is not binary. It is not perfect. What you want to get out of the conversation is subjective. You hear what you want to hear.

  3. Cliff Dix says:

Sometimes I rewind and listen to either just Marc or just Fausto or just the guest to catch things I miss.
I hope you patted down Jade before she left. Thank you for having Jade on the show. Look forward to more of the contestant’s from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

  4. Alfonzo says:

    I loved it!

Thank you for having more talk on RuPaul’s Drag Race and maybe the rest of Chicago’s media will follow your lead and give her more exposure. What I really want to see is go-go Jade. Just a little curious after that last show. Also, I’m so glad you mentioned Ki Ki because it’s such a funny word.

Great show and I can’t wait for next week’s show with Ongina.

I really appreciate the talk about the epidemic of gay hating. It is so widespread and detrimental.

PS-You guys do a great job of keeping the conversation moving in the right direction.

  5. I thought it was spelled out Kai Kai?

Thanks Alfonzo! I can’t wait for Ongina either. Stop the hate and start the love.

  6. So far we’re the ONLY media (according to our guests) in Chicago that are doing anything on RuPaul’s Drag Race. So take a moment and please vote for us in the Chicago Reader’s Best of Chicago (Best Gay News Source.)

Write a short comment when you vote, they weigh those in making their decision. Thank you!

  7. Jeannette says:

You should have more makeup tips with Jade! I’m dying to dress my boyfriend up!

    Loved the podcast! <3

  8. Are you going to force femme your boyfriend Jeannette?

  9. Tracy from Texas wrote to me:

I was wondering if it has been mentioned that the judges on RuPaul’s Drag Race are suppose to be looking for Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve & Talent. They are looking for the contestants CUNT!!

  10. Kieran says:

In a regular interview its like ping pong but on Feast of Fools its like doubles where everyone has a bat in each hand and they all go for the ball. I love it. I used to be quite shocked by that but now I prefer it. Its much more edgy.

I get a little worried when Marc and Fausto have a spat but then what’s new in the gay world?

Jade was fab. I heard her before some time ago and as I have said before I am really impressed at how good the drag queens express themselves. She is so right that drag is a skill or art that needs a lot more appreciation.

  11. dave73 says:

This was overall a good show. Jade does an excellent job at drag, as well as a few other drag queens. I have yet to watch Rupaul’s Drag Race, as I don’t have cable or satellite, and work evenings. When the time comes for me to return to watching drag shows, I have to see Jade in action. I even would like to see more of Lady Vera Parker, than the 1 time I saw her at Encompass Nightclub in Lake Station Indiana.

The only thing that shouldn’t be brought up is the drag wars. Jade did the right thing to avoid the topic. I believe if this topic keeps being brought up, you might not get certain drag queens on the show (or back on the show for previous guests). I understand that Marc & Fausto want the dirt on the drag queens, but pushing this issue might keep some of the queens from wanting to be on the show in the future.

  12. Dave, you can watch the show online. You have the internet right?

I appreciated the drag vs tranny battle but it’s only one battle in the Drag Wars. Start hanging around drag queens again and you’ll soon figure it out. Always drama!

With Jade’s talk about how the other contestants felt about Rebecca Glasscock, I think the drag wars are heading into another direction. I can’t wait to hear what Ongina has to say about her .

  13. Jeannette says:

Fausto, luckily my bf is perfect and I don’t have to force anything on him. He’s into it. *wink*

Did I hear correctly that you are going to have Ongina on next week’s show? My nine year old daughter LOVES her.

  14. dave73 says:

I have AT&T DSL at home. So I can get online at home. As for drag drama; I don’t need that right now. I have too many of my own problems, that I am for the most part, I’m keeping a low profile. I’m gonna focus on work & getting into better shape that I think is right for me.
I hope to get a videocamera soon so I can record some of my progress, and post it on youtube. I plan to get into overall videoblogging too. I just gotta figure out how to get it working with my webcam.

  15. I adore Jade on Rupaul’s show. She’s really down to earth, sincere, and totally relatable/likeable. Plus her makeup is f’ing amazing! Really talented and as one can hear very hard working. Talent like this needs to be lauded and I’m so pleased she’s receiving more exposure. It’s also very exciting to get the behind the scenes dish from the race. Thank you guys!

ps more drag wars, more snatching wigs, more crystals strewn across stages during big numbers please

  16. BASboy says:

I found Jade a fascinating interview. She definitely made me want to go and see here show and keep in touch for when she comes out here to West Hollywood. It helped me to realize that all drag queens are not all about the drama. Or maybe it is the drag queens that aren’t from Los Angeles, are all about no drama. Not sure, but I would totally be open to friendship with Jade.

  17. Teal says:

I loved the show today. Jade was a good interview. Aside from throwing some occasional ‘shade’, she seems like a nice girl!

  18. Jade was really sweet. Besides the obvious, not sure what you mean?

  19. Teal says:

Fausto, I was just referencing when Jade was talking about throwing shade. (At 36:05) You’re the one who asked her about it!
I thought Jade was really sweet too. I found her refreshing:)

  20. You should see her as a male dancer. Talk about a triple threat!

  21. Saman says:

I enjoyed the show and I liked the way Jade kept it clean and nice without being bitchy about others and having respect for other contestants’ way of looking at things.

Of course I cannot see it here at home but thanks to internet, I managed to download 2 episodes and really look forward to see them.

  22. Kiky says:

Hey there Im Kiky, Fellow Performer from Chicago Jade is fabulous!
definately gives must see show’s, and definately should have never lost to rebecca! lol

  23. Alfonzo says:

Today, I was watching the confessionals on the RuPaul’s Drag Race website and didn’t know that Rebecca ripped Jade’s hair out until now. Now I see why the other girls can’t stand her.

  24. huh says:

talking all over her and not letting her talk.

  25. I loved talking with Jade. I think she is very very special and I am thrilled she was on our show. I was so sorry to see her go from the Drag Race.

Jade- you’re welcome to come back anytime and I’ll promise to try to not talk over you.

    @HUH-

  26. Drew says:

Relax Marc! You guys do a terrific job of keeping the show flowing and do an impressive job of interviewing a huge array of interesting guests.

  27. Thanks Drew! I am relaxed. That block of text is a “cut and paste” job that I take from my document folders. It’s meant to wear the reader down and make them want to interrupt me! 🙂
