Good show you guys!! I love Coco Peru in the movie “Trick.” She was hilarious. Of course it burns. LOL. I am actually going to be in New York next month and I was wondering, do any of you guys know the name of the bar in which Coco meets Gabriel in the movie? Is that a real bar? Is it still open? I’m trying to get a feel as to what are the best gay bars in New York city to go to for the weekend that I’ll be there.

I loved Coco in Trick, and it was a great movie from me since my famliy is all from NY and I’ve been there many many times…..brings back great memories.

I got to meet Miss Coco here in Phoenix last November as Echo Magazine was celebrating their 500th issue (nearly 20 yrs!) and they had her come out for a number of events over a whole weekend. She is really fierce in person and her show at Charlie’s was AWESOME! I got to actually chat with her at one of the weekend parties and she’s really personable and great to talk with. Thanks for having her on the show……awesome show!

My crazy video for you guys is done, but youtube is still freakin’ processing it!!! 馃檨 I’m gonna throw it up on FB and MS after I get home tonight and send y’all the link.

Me like my CoCo Pebbles… I mean Peru.
I try to watch all her shows when she is performing in West Hollywood, CA.
It was an interesting interview, learned some stuff I didn’t know. Wish it hadn’t been rushed but obviously she or you were on a time schedule. At first I just thought you guys had done too much caffine, which reminded me of how I sound when I wake up and do coffee and my ADD is in full swing. But 1/2 way through you settled down. And seeing as the show was 50 minutes I understood. So it was a brilliant interview, and thank goodness you didn’t let her talk about the same things she does in every interview.

  4. Alfonzo says:

I thought Miss Coco Peru was fierce ever since I saw Too Wong Foo…., she really stood out, especially when she crushed that cup next to Vita’s face. True DRAG VICIOUSNESS!

Then in Trick, she was funny, too. I really enjoyed her stand up and saw perform at Charlie’s in Phoenix.

She totally reminds me of that Aunt that always makes me feel guilty for not visiting often enough. Great schtick!

  5. Jamie says:

I am thrilled she is coming to town! I’m a big fan.

  6. RcktMan says:

LOVED the interview with Coco, guys. She’s hilarious, and she deserves to be every bit the star she is– and more. I hope I get to see her when she comes to Chicago.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. Jesse says:

    Omggggg this podcast was spectacular.

  8. If you guys are wanting to see her when she’s in Chicago, better buy your tickets soon! I hear they are going fast.

    I’m crazy for Coco Peru!

  9. Jesse says:

I would give anything to be at that show!!! 馃檨

Yet another disadvantage to living in Louisiana, Coco Peru is never here.

  10. Joe P says:

Coco Peru rocks. I’ve only seen her a few films, “Too Wong Foo” (though a VERY small part) and “Trick.” She really helped to make Trick a rememberable flim!

I also love the “Bale Out” song. Is it available for download? I couldn’t find it on iTunes or anywhere else.

  11. Drew says:

    Great show guys!

  12. Kieran says:

Coco was a great guest. I hope she comes back on for more shows. I like the discussion about words like ‘ drag queen’ and ‘tranny’ and views about whether they are appropriate or not. Drag queen is a fierce term and fun but sounds almost like a put down. But I would be curious to know what these performers prefer. I never think in terms of female impersonator do me gender blender would be better.

Performers who are clearly men but use some aspects of womens clothing an make-up to create a character are superb theatre. I am not interested in men who can totally pass as women on stage.

In England we grew up with Danny La Rue a great gender blender revered by royalty and the general public and my mother. Greatest legs and costumes, clearly a man who could put women to shame. Risque songs that delighted everyone. Kudos to all of them.

For some strange reason, my headphones burned my ears during this show. It burns, it burns!!!
