  1. Great show love Phil and his music not to mention how cute he is:-) Paris is a lovely song.

Helter-Skelter is an old name for one of those spiral wooden slides that you get at fun fairs.
    Read the wikipedia entry here.

  2. Great job on the Photos Fausto!
You have capture the spirit of this gorgeous looking guy.
That photo had become my phone’s wallpaper.

And I guess it doesn’t hurt that Phil is so talented in the field of music and that he come out from his Tourett a winner !

  4. Ooo man! How I wish I could be there to watch him perform…

  5. Phil Putnam says:

  6. Alfonzo says:

    Hey guys,
Thanks for having someone on the show that proves some of us do love Jesus!

I can imagine that someone will sue the company after stubbing a finger riding down the Helter Skelter! Even the name sounds dangerous.

I liked all the tips about the music industry and new media. You have to keep on keeping us up to date with all this stuff as there are still loads of things that are not clear. Tagging? I get it now and what do tags do. Why blog there are too many, how do you choose? They make me sleepy.

The Helter Skelter is a tower usually with red stripes up the side and a parent and child would climb up the middle and slid down the outside on a mat. Its one the most orignal and tradional fair ground rides. Perfect for gay couples but I am sure the parents would pout!!

  9. Read the blogs that interest you, that make you think, that challenge you and that keep you informed.

Some are not so good, some are great, just like books, newspapers, films and tv shows. Glad you enjoy ours!

  10. Kieran…if you’re a musician or a public figure/artist of any kind, I definitely recommend having a blog on your website where you can get your thoughts out to your fans. It’s an excellent way to make you “3D” to your fans, a full person rather than someone who makes music/art they like. It’s also a great way to engage fans and keep them coming back to get more of you.

As for which blogs written by other people that you should pay attention to for the purpose of promoting your work, focus on blogs and podcasts that cover the topics you cover and feature the style of art you make. Most new media (blogs, podcasts) are highly topical, and this can be your greatest help in discerning where to put your time and attention.

  11. For easy set up, wordpress.com (easier, hosted) or wordpress.org (requires a little work, self-hosted) is the way to go.

FYI this site is run on wordpress and the forums on bbpress.

Phil was a wonderful guest! I’m impressed with his knowledge about new media– a rarity when it comes to performers, it seems! I hope we will see and hear him back on the show again soon!

It was great to meet Phil at the Steamworks show. I caught just the end of his performance because I got there late, but we all really enjoyed him. Hopefully I’ll get to see him when he comes back around this way again.
