I thought Cynthia Nixon had the most appropriate speech. But, I do want to point out one record broken: largest gathering of people in skinny jeans ever!

  2. BASboy says:

How they count crowds… They do a fly over and take pictures. Then they break the picture into squares and do a count based upon those in the square and then estimate the crowd based upon how many squares that are similarly packed with people. Jut FYI.
Wish I could have gone, but the husband was working and I didn’t want to go without him. ;-(

  3. Pamela says:

Great show!! Thanks for the recap! I’m still a bit sad that I never found you guys amidst the sea of fabulousness. Atttending the march was the single most important thing I have done in my life and I’m so glad I got to enjoy it with my wonderful girlfriend Robin!

  4. I love your show, as by now you probably know. I am always encouraged to comment somewhere else than facebook, but I maybe too low-tech. On the other hand I might be commenting now.

fof#1073: I agree that we should still support Pres. Obama. I saw the HRC speech and listened to the comments on today’s show. I’m very ambivalent, but ultimately I still have hope that Obama is a new kind of politician and is on our side.

Please don’t be mean to me Fausto if I didn’t do this right. I crave your approval. 😉
    Love,
    Stephen

Hey Guys – what an amazing show. It really made me feel as though I was there with you.

There were 54 of us on the bus that didn’t make it to DC, there were 212 total. Not only did we get stranded in Ohio, but we also had most of the posters and banners that Join The Impact was going to use during the March. We also had several posters made from photographs of Harvey Milk that my friend Jerry Pritikin took more than 30 years ago.

Thanks for the shout out, you brought a tear to my eye : -)

It’s wonderful to hear from longtime fans and I’m sure you were excited to meet them after all this time.

  6. Doug says:

DC_GAY_MAN, add plaid shirt to that LOL

  7. Doug says:

I’m still bummed by the bus issue. I tried my best to shout out louder to compensate the reduced Chicago contingent. It was awesome. I’m ready for the next

Sad for missing the Flashmob and for not enjoying the night 100% as it took us around two hours to find a nice place in Dupont Circle Saturday night. But we had fun Sunday night

Very nice to hear Gaga’s speech again here. It was very emotional live

  8. This show was amazing!

I am so thankful for Marc and Fausto and what they do! Without them this small town boy never would have heard of the march or the inspirational speeches at the march. I teared up a little on the way to school listening to the speeches.

Marc and Fausto are to me exactly like what Zach said. Thank you sooo much guys! 🙂

This episode was fantastic! As someone who wasn’t able to attend, I really appreciated the indepth recap and the fact that you played the speakers’ entire speeches. If I hadn’t been at the gym, I most likely would’ve been moved to tears by Cleve and StaceyAnn’s words.

  10. Kevin says:

Hey, thanks for the shout out! It was great meeting you guys this weekend and I look forward to listening to more of your podcasts! See you when I’m in Chicago…

    Kevin

  11. Richard says:

As always, a great show guys. Thanks for the recap of the march and your, as always, insightful (and hilarious) commentary. It was wonderful to take part in such a monumental occasion. Now the real work begins … the drudgery of calling congressional offices and demanding that our local politicians take our issues seriously.

  12. Chickengirl says:

it sounded like it was an incredible march! I hope it was not all done in vain and will get the attention the GLBT community deserves!!

IF i gave a speech i’d probably say something crazy like saying how we need to start a crusade to eliminate the tight hold religious faith has on this country or something….

  13. Nidocamen says:

Really great show, I couldn’t make it to the march even though I had a few friends who did go. Was great to hear the speakers and the interviews with the crowd. Great words from Cleve Jones! Nice also that you guys got to meet that one guy who had the fof shirt on national tv…..I remember an episode where y’all talked about him or to him on the phone. see ya guys tomorrow!!

    • We’ll have some fun and learn a thing or two. The guy with the t shirt is Zach and he’s more to us than just the kid who wore the t shirt on tv, we’ve been corresponding with him for over 4 years now!

  14. Andy says:

    What an amazing show!
Some of the speeches were quite moving. I hope it will make a change and the GLBT community in the US finally get the rights it deserves!
