    hey you two sweeties!
wow, you know about our krampus? that is so cool! not even people from Northern Germany know about him, that is a typical Austrian and Bavarian thing. Funny thing is, when i was a child i was always more afraid of st. nick, than of the hairy man with the horn and the fur all over his body. hehehe

    grrrrrreets
    stef

    • It’s because you grew up to love horny hairy men! Lol

      • MadHatter says:

Well, who doesn’t! Or could you resist somebody with a horse’s hoof and a tongue down to his belly button?

Thank you twos for the useful pieces of advice in your show, tried the ginger tea and is is delicious! think I will drink that more often now, I love the taste of it! and when you add some whiskey, you can also sleep very well. thanx veeeeery much again!

True, I am from Northern Germany and did not know about Krampus till I moved to South Germany where my Bavarian friends told me about him. In the other parts of Germany St. Nicholas`companion is usually “Knecht Ruprecht”.

I remember in the Kindergarten and primary school I was always afraid when St. Nicholas came with Knecht Ruprecht. We had to sing a song to impress upon Santa and Ruprecht to show that we were good children. We were told that those who did not well would be beaten by Ruprecht and the ones who did well would get a gift or a treat. The ones who had been bad throughout the whole year were put into Ruprecht’s sack. Then Ruprecht would take them home in the Black Forest to be consumed later or to be tossed into a river.

Now I am off to the Christmas market to enjoy some mulled wine (Glühwein). 🙂

      Cheers!

  5. I guess I grew up with Santa Claus as a combination of the two: bad boys and girls would get either coal or a bundle of switches in their stockings. Oklahoma has a lot of German heritage though, so that may have played into it, I don’t know!
