  1. Glad you guys are back! Missed you!

  2. Welcome back boyz! we missed you.

I’m not pedantic, i’m just drawn that way (apologies to Jessica Rabbit).

you can’t be in a relationship between more than two people. I keep trying though! 1-2, between, 3+, among. 😉

ok… enough of that. on to a more serious topic.

re: Aaron Swartz. While I agree that the government overstepped, when mental health and depression are involved we have no way of knowing who’s to blame. Saying the government is to blame discounts the impact of depression. It could very well be he would have committed suicide even if the case had been dropped. the fact is no one knows. In conversations on the topic I am limiting my comments to marking his accomplishments and saying what a loss.

    • I agree, but that’s not what his family is saying. Officials are partly to blame:

Decisions made by officials in the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s office and at MIT contributed to his death. The US Attorney’s office pursued an exceptionally harsh array of charges, carrying potentially over 30 years in prison, to punish an alleged crime that had no victims. Meanwhile, unlike JSTOR, MIT refused to stand up for Aaron and its own community’s most cherished principles.

Hopefully his death will allow these laws to be rewritten so that none of us in the future are in a situation where government prosecutors are throwing the book at us for “hacking” which is way too broadly defined as a crime.

    • All your sweet comments are so inspiring guys! xoxoxo

  3. glad to have you guys back! I was starting to have FOF withdrawals…

enjoyed hearing about your trip to Puerto Rico!

Also, one correction. It is still very possible to see The Book of Mormon in NYC. I saw it last year. There are all these three-party websites that sell tickets. Granted, they can cost a lot, and you may not get a great seat, but as long as you buy the tickets as far in advance as you can, you can get a pretty good deal.

eager for all the upcoming shows!

  4. Federico says:

    Ciao and welcome back!

No Glitter Day party for my husband and I this year… I’m in Dubai and I couldn’t celebrate with him and our friends.
I really missed our fabulous and camp party. We’ll celebrate twice next year!

    Ciaoooooo

  5. GayMarine says:

Welcome back guys. Sure missed my daily dose of FOF while you were gone. Glad you had some time off and are well rested to begin a new year. Now get back to work! 🙂

I had never heard of Aaron Swartz until the news of his tragic death. I must say, however, that after reading several news accounts of his life and death it seems like yet another example of genius gone wrong. How people feel that the prosecution of criminals is the government overreaching is beyond me. The guy broke into a computer system and stole information that was not his. How would you guys feel if someone hacked your server and downloaded all of your premium podcasts and distributed them to others free of charge? You’d probably be pissed. Well, isn’t this what he did? It doesn’t matter if you had any intentions of eventually making them available for free or not. It is your property and no one has the right to do with it as they wish without your permission. If they do it is a criminal act and subject to prosecution.

Again, welcome back! I look forward to another great your of feasting on your fun!!
