A vibrant gay scene is blossoming in India which for years was held back by the horrible legacy of British colonial rule. Now change is finally happening thanks to people like Prince Manvendra, who has been leading the way for equality.

Today His Royal Highness Prince Manvendra joins us in person to talk about the progress for equality in India and his new organization Ekta Transglobal.

  1. Than says:

Great show today, great guest. I love the Indian t-shirts, so colorful. You should make some Indian-inspired FOF t-shirts.

  2. three words: A MAZE ING! snap snap SNAP! (how original, an extra snap!) 😀

  3. nrclptc says:

Excelent guest, a bit of a pain to hear him talking but great.

  4. Angela says:

Wonderful to have him back on the show! So inspiring when someone from a cloistered world of privilege levers it into actually doing good in the wider world. We didn’t manage to get him to New Zealand for the OutGames two years ago, but the queer/trans* people of NZ would love the Crown Prince to make an appearance here some time in the future. 🙂

  5. I’m glad you brought His Highness back on the show. Not only does he champion the gay rights cause, but he’s an excellent storyteller. I think the reason westerners are so fascinated with India is that they see how rich their culture and history are. Its for that reason European and western culture owe so much to India. People sometimes forget Columbus was not looking for America – he was on his way to India. Also, Americans have much in common with India. We are both major democracies, we both fought off the British and won, we both have Freedom of religion, and we are both culturally diverse. All these elements make for a promising future for gays in India. No doubt India’s gay community will be tremendous some day thanks to the efforts of His Highness, Lakshya Trust and Ekta Transglobal.
