One of Chicago’s most beloved street performers is the Puppet Bike, a tiny puppet theater that travels around the city on the back of a bicycle. Originally started by puppeteer Jason Trusty, the Puppet Bike now involves some eight performers who make adorable, gritty little animal puppets sing and dance.

Today we’re talking to the Puppet Bike puppeteer Stacee Droege about entertaining kids for tips.

The Tea Party: the faux party of the people built on ignorance and fear. The sad part about this is that my parents subscribed to the Tea Party when people still gave a shit about them. /pathetic sigh
I wonder how the Tea Party supporters who met Stacee when she was a campaigner, would react to her current line of work.

And about the Koch brothers, German (I’m assuming it’s German) names can be confusing. One of my best friends in high school had the surname “Fuchs”; her family pronounced it “Fox,” but every school official in memory pronounced it as “Fooks,” and every asshole pronounced it as “Fucks.”

  3. cute show! This show is why i love FoF so much. You expose us to things that we otherwise would never encounter. Sounds like it should be exported to a location where you can perform year round (like the embarcadero in San Francisco!).

What a coincidence you have a show about puppets today. This weekend I am going to a Muppet Movie sing-a-long hosted by Heather Henson! I met her a few years ago when she was at the Orlando Fringe Festival (with Marsian Delellis) doing a similar show for the movie Labyrinth. Thanks for another great show, guys!

  5. I forgot about puppet bike from ny time in Chicago! This is the real news people want to hear!
