After 17 years of doing stage parodies of the movie Showgirls, San Francisco drag icon Peaches Christ is still not “too old for that ‘whorey look.’”

Showgirls bombed when it first hit theaters in 1995. Since then the movie has become a cult hit, in part thanks to dedicated and demented fans like Peaches Christ, who keep audiences excited for this oddball camp classic.

Listen as Peaches Christ shares with us some special moments she had with the recently deceased comedian Robin WIlliams.

I always love me some Peaches!

Of course, the poo talk at the end kinda brought it down a notch. 😉 But I will tell you one of the funniest lines I ever heard was in a parody play of the Brady Bunch (there was a time in the 90’s when all the small, local theaters here in Florida were doing stage versions of old sitcoms). And at one point the kids are addressing the audience about “if only” they hadn’t done something “mom wouldn’t be mad” and stuff like that. The Marsha character then says: :If only mom had told me if I wipe from back to front my vagina would make cottage cheese.” That line brought the house down.

  2. After Cooking with Drag Queens is fully funded, can we work on Kickstarting a spin-off show for Peaches and Brian? I’d sell all of my [correction: all of someone else’s] personal belongings so we could hear Peaches defend glorious schlock while Brian applies well deserved nerdrage like a prescription ointment.

  3. I can never get enough Showgirls! It’s such a shame Peaches doesn’t release these shows on the web. It’s such a dick tease for those of us who can’t make it to San Francisco.

  4. Love to hear from Peaches! I could listen to her talk about movies for hours! I like getting to discover new “off the wall & a bit out there” style movies I might not run across on my own.

  5. Always love episodes with Show girls reference! 4 years ago after listening to FoF and the many episodes on Show girls we named our German shepard Mix that we adopted Nomi!! She is in my FB Cover photo now!
