One of the great things about living in a city like Chicago is you get to see musicals being born. Before they go to Broadway, a lot of big shows get tested in the Windy City to see if it’s a smash hit or a stinker.

Today we’re taking a look at the promising new musicals being unleashed first in Chicago: The Cher Show, Tootsie, Charlie and Chocolate Factory and now running Pretty Woman:The Musical.

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in New York for it’s Broadway run. It was enjoyable. Christian Borle really made the show as Willy Wonka. He far out-shown Jackie Hoffman.

And Spongebob the Musical is still running on Broadway, Marc. It actually got decent reviews which was a surprise to the Broadway crowd.

And since Fausto is always fascinated in guys who wear diapers, Jerry Springer The Opera is currently running in New York with jsut such a character in it. Perhaps it will tour through Chicago in the near future.

I made my donation to Fausto’s fund and wish him all the best towards recovery!
