As people plan their summer getaways, many folks who enjoy the podcast write to us to ask: “what should I do while I’m in the Windy City?

Besides visiting our amazing lakefront, world class museums, the Art Institute and our legendary comedy and music venues, we also recommend visiting the gay bars in Lakeview, Edgewater, Andersonville and Rogers Park but sometimes people are looking for something a little more off the beaten track.

Joining us to talk about some of Chicago’s hidden gems is writer Jessica Mlinaric whose new book, Secret Chicago: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure is now available.

Listen as we chat with Jessica about some of the more unusual sights to see in the Second City- from weird graves, to unusual parks to the imaginative dolls of JoJo’s closet.
