Billy Porter made fierce-story by becoming the first openly gay black man to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for playing the fabulous ballroom emcee Pray Tell in FX’s “Pose.”

Earlier in the evening, when RuPaul and her gal pals won their 14th Emmy for RuPaul’s Drag Race as the show most likely to start shit up on the Internet, the camera cut to a side view of Billy Porter and his eyeball leaving some folks to wonder if there was any tea to be spilled over Mama Ru and Pray Tell’s relationship.

Billy Porter’s just mad they made him take off his fabulous hat. Screenshot of the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards.

Although it’s probably “much ado about side eye,” the public interest does underscore a desire to see more trans inclusion on television, especially on shows like RuPaul’s Drag Race.

And why isn’t anyone talking about how Billy Porter’s hat was robbed of its own award for Best Hat at any Awards Ceremony?

Today comedian Carma Nibarger joins to jump into the melée over Billy Porter’s side eye and RuPaul’s dismissal of diversity at the Emmy Awards.
