Here are five movie sex scenes that I believe are unintentionally ridiculous. I know there are a lot more out there and I’d love to hear what your favorites are.

  1. Andy says:

My favourite one is the Showgirls’ sex scene in the pool. Sex in the water is always fun. 馃檪

  2. For some reason, the scene in Blue Velvet where she says, “Touch my neeeple, my neeeeple is hard” cracks me up.

  3. Barbarella: “An angel can not make love because an angel IS love.”

And The Handmaids Tale (Freaky sex scene with James Duvall and Faye Dunaway!)

  4. Curtis says:

This was all just another excuse for you to bring up Showgirls! Damn you Marc Felion! 馃槈

I’m actually mildly annoyed by these kind of internet memes where scenes or moments from films are isolated from their contexts for a little laugh. When they’re about crappy movies like “Moment for Moment” it’s OK, but when something sublime and beautiful like Brokeback Mountain, or a well written near classic comedy like “Working Girl” (the video of Melanie Griffith clearing her throat) is used for cheap comedic effect it can actually potentially ruin future viewings of the films.

I have the same issue with nit picking reviewers of films who go on and on about some minor flaw in an otherwise well made film. I find this happens on too many film podcasts in particular.

Fortunately in the case of Brokeback I can’t figure out what your getting at with macaroni thing.

    • You could make it a drinking game everytime she has a frog in her throat

    • “Broken macaroni” is a term used in foleying sound into film to suggest something got broken. It’s subtle, but it’s definitively there. They might have used other stuff, like taking denim jackets and rustling around, but the audio was exaggerated for the scene to suggest pain and a rough penetration!

And yes, everything in life is about Showgirls.
