  1. I went the whole day yesterday seeing that photo and I kept thinking it was the daughter, not the crypt keeper mom. Adam sure is a whiz!

  2. Boy I bet John McCain is breathing a sigh of relief- “FINALLY someone shut up my wife.” hahahaha

  3. Chickengirl says:

    woah!! she looked so creepy when you saw her on the campaign! but I guess Photoshop can do wonders hehe…

    but in all seriousness uh..good for her! I guess! maybe she will set an example for other republican politicians….

  4. Blueboi says:

    I think it’s more the lighting than photoshop.

  5. Andy says:

    Good for her! Hopefully more will follow her example!

  6. okay, all I can still think of is “shut that bitch up.” ha ha

    I hope more Republicans do come out in support of equality in a meaningful way. The cynic in me has to believe that gestures like this without any policy changes will just make it easier for the self-hating crowd to support a party that is actively working against our community.

    @ChickenGirl: what, like the Democrats?

    “The cynic in me has to believe that gestures like this without any policy changes will just make it easier for the self-hating crowd to support a party that is actively working against our community.”
    @carrma: what, like the Democrats?

    Again: The Democrats are not “our party”, are not “pro-GLBTQ”, and are not actively working for “us”. What we have done, with our unbridled, unquestioning support of them is ensure two things:

    1. The Democratic party will not do anything to really promote gay rights? Why? There’s no political capital in it. They will continue to have our vote no matter what (we’ve said that, repeatedly), and if they DO promote something meaningful, they will risk pissing off the liberal-but-homophobic crowd (think: a lot of the people who voted against gay marriage in CA).

    2. The Republicans will always speak out against gay rights. Why? They know we won’t vote for them anyway; to make up the minority balance we represent, they have to let the extreme opposing view (which approximates our voting power) – those who actually vote anti-gay – that they have Something To Fear From Democrats. There is no risk politically (we won’t vote for them no matter what; the crazies will; most people don’t consider it a voting issue).

    Remember, I’m talking party politics, and not necessarily individuals. If you shut everyone up in either party and looked at voting records, you’d find a surprising mix that isn’t along party lines – at all.
