The city of Philadelphia has determined that blogging is a business. Being a business will require bloggers to have a $300 business license.

That is total bull crap and I hope someone challenges this in court. It can’t possibly be legal. Do they require business licenses for yard sales too?
The entertaining part of this will be when they attempt to legally define blogging. Just take a minute to imagine that. We’ve gone from newspapers to magazines to zines to blogs to social networking, etc. All of these things are distinct. So, they’ll have to pin down exactly what blogging is without harming newspaper or magazine circulations. Then we’ll dream up a new form of communication outside the purview of that narrowly defined law, and they’ll try again without hurting old media or casting the entire net on the internet. Then we’ll evolve again, etc. LOL It’s JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. It’s not feasible. Only political ignoramus would attempt it because not all blogs are constructed or networked similarly enough.
