I find it not so funny… Maybe it is his voice. He sounds like he should stop eating fatty foods drink less beer. 😉
It is not a surprise that many major Hollywood movies are not made to tell a good story but only to make money, to maximise profits. And with $2,5 Billion in worldwide sales Avatar is the most financially successful movie.

Maybe nowadays the majority of people want movies to be a ride rather than a good story because they lost their imagination. Day by day they just consume…watch TV, videos or play video games which leave little or nothing to the imagination. And due to portable devices with Internet access they can press the button everywhere and whenever they want to consume more nonsense content. Books are considered old fashioned somehow and fewer people actually read them and if they do it is not uncommon they need several weeks or even months for one book.

Awesome critique. I saw Avatar for the first time yesterday. I resented being preached to and found the characters and story uninteresting. Too bad Cameron didn’t reallocate a fraction of his budget away from the visuals and into the writing; maybe hire the creative writers of Arrested Development and Weeds.

    • Yeah it’s kind of baffling how these sci-fi directors like George Lucas and James Cameron lose their interest in good writing when they get to a certain point in their careers. Is this just endemic of their success I wonder?

If I had a gazllion dollars to spend on a movie, would I be the same only make the whole planet about Novotny class sized guys sticking their tail wangs into each other?

that guy’s voice was kinda odd..hilarious stuff though and he was pretty much right about everything he said about the film….

  5. Patricia Fernos says:

The man’s voice is meant to sound as if he’s had one-too-many beers and can therefore speak more freely. It’s very clever and well done but a bit too long and somewhat silly in parts, but all-in-all a good view.

  6. Blueboi says:

Lol. I think the voice is what makes the whole thing work.
