This image has been driving me crazy, so much so that my roommate and I almost got into a knock-down-dragged-out-fisticuffs over it. I swear it’s going counterclockwise while he says it’s going the other way […]

Watching this video now she’s going a different way from what I’m saying in the video….totally freaky!!!

  2. Want me to tell you the trick to switching it, Michael?

Stare only at the foot in the center. By concentrating on a small space, you can force your mind to switch perspectives much easier than by staring at the whole image. The more of the image your mind has to process, the more likely it is to stay turning in the direction you’re perceiving.

  3. Freaky- she goes both ways for me!

Michael, I hate these friggin’ things. But, doesn’t it matter if you’re looking at her from below her feet or from above her head? (Along her turning axis) Looking one way might give clockwise, and looking the other gives counter-clockwise. So, is that where the confusion comes from? Ask your roomie which frame-of-reference along her axis of rotation he’s using to judge her clocky movements. Also, if you look at her hips, doesn’t it become obvious? I mean: When she’s facing you, then you can tell which leg she’s swinging, right? Then watch that leg. THEN judge from that which way she’s turning. I think if you look at her feet or head or arms you’ll get fucked up. We have to do this sort of thing with molecules in point group theory in chemistry all the time. For the record, I think that if I was standing below her under a glass floor (let’s just say) looking up, it would look like she is moving clockwise.

She’s not moving at all. The Camera man is! haha .

  6. i see counterclockwise all the time despite all the trick. This is interesting
