    A trans friend of mine remarked some time ago that “Morgan” seems disproportionately popular with transmen. Maybe that’s just in the Pacific Northwest where ze is.

    I am such a bad mythology nerd: it just occurred to me that the Auryn, the symbol from the Neverending Story consisting of two snakes entwined, could be inspired by the myth of Tiresias, the blind prophet of Greek myth who was transformed from male to female when ze came upon a pair of copulating serpents and struck them with his staff. Dude, maybe Michael Ende WAS giving a shout-out to transgender lore.

    Confirmation bias: though horror author Poppy Z Brite has opted not to change his given name as part of his FTM transition, as a teen he briefly masqueraded as his own cousin under the name… yep, Sebastian. 😉
