Thanks for posting this. A straight friend sent this to having been equally moved by the message. I’m glad you brought it to FOF and gave it a place in the Fresh section. Cheers.

best, most moving anti-bullying ad I have ever seen. I immediately wanted to post the video to any christian website on FB I could find. I heard a christian on television say himself, “if Christians don’t change with the times, we will loose the very people we are trying to reach.” Accepting homosexuality and the umbrella of queerness IS THE TIMES. Thank you, thank you.

    • aisha says:

It’s pretty annoying when people only point to Christians as the anti-gay religion. Study.. its not. You had better start posting it to every Islamic site as well. Also, Christians are not against gays. I’m a Christian and it irritates me to see people always hating on something that is centered on love. The bullying video was wonderful. Maybe they should make on people bullying religion.

      • Wrong- the Christian churches fight us every way and make our lives very difficult.
Quit trying to pass laws against us and we’ll call it a truce.

True Christians love us and help us. What are you doing for the cause?

      • Kylie says:

@aisha, you’re right. Christians aren’t the only anti-gay religion, but they are by far the largest in most areas of the world.

And while you personally aren’t against gays, and I, as a Christian, am not against gays, most people who call themselves Christians are against the lgbt group.

Times are changing, and more and more Christian churches are starting to make policies accepting lgbt members, but thus far, most still frown on anything remotely to do with homosexuality, which is why Christians, as a whole, still have a bad name.

And @Marc, aisha was not saying anything bad about lgbt people at all in their post, and was simply pointing out that Christians aren’t the *only* anti-lgbt group. They didn’t deny that they are anti-lgbt.

  3. Richard says:

I wish this were available 30 years ago, when I was in school. My life would have been quite different. Thank you, for changing the world, one life at a time.

  4. Beth Hatfield-Griffin says:

thank you. a simple gesture of kindness and understanding is not only powerful, but also changes the world!

  5. Cyndi Pilcher says:

Thank for this…More people need to be this open and stand up against bullying..of ANY kind to anyone — especially the LGBT crowd and I’m proud to be included in this crowd!! Blessings!

  6. Bob Schneider says:

I also wish this were available (here in the good ol’ U.S. of A.) 30 years ago when I was in school (junior high school at the time). But thank God it is available now. Yes, thank you for helping to change the world, one life at a time. Anti-LGBT bullying should NEVER be tolerated!!

  7. Daniel says:

I really enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Dee says:

  10. Kiwi says:

    very well done!

  11. Eric Lowe says:

Thanks for posting this. It is very moving…If more people understand that LBGT people are people too.

  12. stan James says:

They also have civil unions since Jan, and already about 70% of the people there support marriage

The RATZInger Pope, who grew up in Nazi germany must be having a fit. And planning the next inquisition.

  13. Cathy Agnello says:

It is time to put a stop to all types of bullying. Thank you for posting this video

  14. Toronto says:

OMG, I LOVE THIS!!! Great ad, very moving, good to see Ireland take action against something very important.

  15. Arly Helm says:

Makes my heart sing. Standing together with our comrades and facing oppression has worlds of power in it.

  16. Arwen says:

This was very very good. Thanks for sharing.

  17. K. McCool says:

I’m straight, but have gay friends. this is the kind of thing that the world needs. we have to let go of the barbaric ways of our past. if we can’t move forward and be kind to each other despite our differences, we’ll never amount to anything as a species. I’ll post this where i can to move the message forward!!

Well done, to the people who made this video. VERY VERY good work!

  18. charlotte wong says:

Thank you so much for this I have and have had some of the best friends in my life who were identified as gay, bi and trans-gendered. The hell they have gone through was due to ignorance and no one standing when they needed it . You have done a really good thing.

  19. Jimmy says:

As a transgender person myself just starting to come out to the world (and even to myself), this was really moving. “Stand up for your friends” is something we all need to hear and do. This little ad gives us a voice in a society that barely recognizes the existence of some people. I have shared this publicly on Facebook. I wonder how many of my acquaintances will be curious … “why did Jimmy post this?”…and then watch it…

  20. Joseph Hardin says:

would it be okay if I were to redo this for an American audience? I haven’t seen this commercial here, and I think that we need this kind of message direly.

I would give credit to the original creators of this commercial.

  21. Susan Dykhuis says:

I wish this would be played beginning in Grade 1 in every school on Planet Earth. So touching. My friends walk many paths; it is their right to be true to themselves. Those of us who are heterosexual take if for granted that we can hold hands, kiss, and hug the one we love. This right is not exclusive to heterosexual couples.
    Bravo! for creating this video.

  22. Angie says:

I will hold your hand, great job.

  23. american says:

nice, it must be great. But in america the gays and lesbians still shit on transsexuals because they have their own agendas. We are a subclass of the sub culture. No one is holding my hand so fuck off.

  24. Lindsey Westhaven says:

Wonderful! To bad there wasn’t individuals who would stand up like this when I was a kid in school.
I was mercilessly bullied and ridiculed for being gay, when the truth of the matter was, I am transgendered. HA! If they could see me now…they’d all shit their pants! I hate bullies.

  25. mododavid says:

HOLY FUCKIN’ SHIT!! HOW MANY COMMENTS WAS THAT?! That’s gotta be a record. Just sayin’. AND It’s good to see so many people touched by this beautiful ad.

  26. MaxInMiami says:

Thanks for enriching my life and that of everyone else!

  27. Michael Ackerman says:

I’ll hold your hand! Together we can stand proud, whether straight, gay, lesbian or transgender – Stand tall, stand proud, believe in change. Thank you for a fantastic few seconds that brought tears to my eyes.

  28. Toni G says:

I like how powerful the message is in this, just by holding hands. I don’t cry at much, but this made me tear up. It makes me want to do more in my community. Luckily, my school seems very accepting, but I do all I can anyway. I’m thinking to show this at our GSA next year. It sends the perfect message. Thank you for posting!

  29. AmyG says:

I had issue with this video. I grew up in NYC so I have zero issue with being gay – I support wholeheartedly – however, this video shows a very lonely boy who is socially awkward – so he is open to befriending anyone who will give him time of day whether it be gay or straight he’ll follow. These are the types that can be considered confused. He just wanted a friend – very sad. The ad would’ve been more effective if the boy was a popular kid and then falls out when he gets caught with his lover – then the message would’ve been clear and that support would be stronger IMO.
