Holy cow… that was …. depressing!!!
But on second viewing… I get the humor behind it. Dark… but I get it.
The sad reality is that the horrific working conditions for many Asian workers are no joke, but a grim reality.
Very true!
At the end though, I was expecting a narwhal whale, not a unicorn.
I like the music in that segment — beautiful and achingly sad.
Agreed.
I am certain that the majority Simpsons products are made in China, but I’m pretty sure that the overseas animation is done in Korea (I would think (and hope) South Korea.) If I’m not mistaken the company’s name is Akom(?) I know I’ve seen it in the credits so many times.
Yes this is dark, perhaps they are speaking out about human rights abuses in general or maybe they are rebelling against Rupert Murdoch and one of their sister networks,Faux News, that wants to accuse any democrat of being a Communist; or maybe they’re just gearing up for Halloween… Who can say?
I’m just really tired of people blowing everything out of proportion. Some things are bigger than others and deserve the attention they recieve, just as some others deserve no attention at all and become a much bigger deal than they should be.
All I’m saying is things are crazy enough as they are. Let’s not make them crazier, please? If this is going to cast some kind of shadow over The Simpsons, then shouldn’t Family Guy have never been allowed back on the air. Has everyone lost their sense of humor?!?
FOX took the video down…but animation has been outsourced to Asian countries for a long time now, different countries may work on the same show over the course of its seasons..and cheap labor usually equals poor living conditions for the employees obviously…sadly, its just the way things are, unless some major human rights laws can be made, but in the end that would probably be more expensive for these companies and they don’t want to lose money just because of the well-being of their employees..they don’t see the employees as people, they are seen as tools, nothing more nothing less.
