Today, we talk once again with Archie Comics’ writer and artist, Dan Parent, about Kevin Keller, their ground breaking gay character and the surprisingly muted response from conservatives.
Also joining us again are Chicago comedians Seth Dodson and Kellen Alexander to chat about virtual girlfriends, Ghandi’s gay love and Internet initialisms.

Whish i had some money… 🙁
I love that you guys have your fingers on the pulse of Archie.
I just remembered: one of my friends wore a tux to our junior prom, without making any waves. She didn’t come with a date (none of us really did–I just pretended to date my Marine guyfriend to make the popular girls JEALOUS :D) and wasn’t out at the time. Maybe that made a difference? Also it was Upstate NY in 1996, not down South in whatever century they’re stuck in.
Still, none of us were remotely out until graduation: “gay” and “dyke” were still insults, thrown freely. But we had each other, at least! Awww, memories.
Do you have any shirtless pics of the Marine?
Not handy, sorry, but I just found him again on Facebook, so maybe later. 😉
I had a gay friend who graduated from Catholic High School in 1979 and took a drag queen to the prom, and nobody cared.
