Before there were podcasts, blogs and social networks, there were zines, small, self-published photocopied magazines that managed to give voice to people on the fringes of culture.
Today we’re talking to burlesque artist, photographer, and journalist Pleasant Gehman about her new art exhibit “Teenage Lobotomy” featuring her iconic fanzine of the 1970s punk and art scene in LA.

Always great when you got Pleasant Gehman on the show!
speaking of electronic history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Archive
About file formats as long as the format is known it’s trivial to write a converter.
BMP (Bitmap) is actually the simplest format one could ccome up with see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMP_file_format
Pleasant Gehman is so madcap crazy. It’s wonderful.
The flip side of losing files to format obsolescence is that we are spared information that the owner / creator didn’t think was worth preserving. Imagine the future when every unfinished piece of crap is preserved forever and you have to sift through so much garbage to find the gems.
Pleasant is the best 🙂
