Photographer Derrick Woods-Morrow likes to play a game while creating his art: he uses a stopwatch to figure out how long it takes him to approach an unknown man in public and get them to pose nude for his camera.
Today, Derrick Woods-Morrow, whose photography and sculpture draws upon his experiences as a queer black man, joins us to tell us what happened after he convinced complete strangers to get photographed naked.

Would love to hear a follow-up after Derrick finishes his residency on Fire Island, commenting on what he learned about the local culture. Having spent some time in Cherry Grove years ago, I’m curious to hear Derrick’s perspective.

Things got a little busy around the time I was headed out to fire island for the residency.
