love it
I was never a cartoon lover as a child. Fractured Fairy Tales was my favorite! It was a true treat to see this one as I have not seen them in many many years.
He became a gay butler.
Stone cold props to the voice talents in this piece…Daws Butler as the wolf and June Foray as all three Piggs plus the maid. Brilliant understated narration by Edward Everett Horton (a nice contrast to William Conrad’s narration on Rocky and Bullwinkle).
Regarding the “gay” books the wolf reads…Wiki says the term already meant “homosexual” in most contexts when this was made (1961), and that “By 1963, the word ‘gay’ was known well enough by the straight community to be used by Albert Ellis in his book The Intelligent Woman’s Guide to Man-Hunting.” So most likely the cartoon used it for exactly that meaning.
