Appears the Alamo Drafthouse theatre in Austin, TX has a zero tolerance policy for movie theatre talkers and texters. Can they open up a theatre in Chicago????? She Texted. We Kicked Her Out

I saw this yesterday. BRILLIANT!
Also, looks like another thumbnail snafu. Joey says use Firefox. He said Safari is messing it up.
Yeah I was using Firefox 4 on Windows 7 and on Mac OS X with results like that. Marc suggested Chrome so I’m going to try that. On the upside it looks like the Windows 7 Netbook handles Chrome a lot better than it did Firefox 4.
Let m know if that works. If we can raise enough money we’ll be fixing it on the next site upgrade.
Using Firefox 4 and Win 7, sometimes there is a problem with the thumbnail, sometimes it does work depending on the photo.
Would never go to a cinema like that. Nowadys you can watch/download the newest movies online anyway and while while watching the movie at home you can do whatever you like.
But who will serve you a meal and a cocktail?
But it’s like writing a hand-written thank you note or get well card. There’s just something special or romantic (a throwback) about seeing a movie in the theater.
Good question, I usually prepare some light food and get a bottle of wine if I watch a movie with a friend/date.
You are right, David. It is kinda romantic but I like to talk/whisper during the movie.
Aw, it sounds like it was a style of movie theatre similar to the Parkway Speakeasy in Oakland (which closed a few years ago to much sadness). Parkway had tons of couches with sidetables, but no waitstaff as I recall, you ordered your pizza and/or beer with your ticket and brought it in with you. At the same time, it doesn’t seem like the kind of place that would be really rigorous about banning someone texting.
