Offensive to be sure, but a friend of mind pointed out something extra chilling: the fact that Santorum and his ilk see no difference between same-sex coupling and stuff like pedophilia and bestiality implies that the notion of consent never enters their minds. Children and animals can’t consent, adults can. People who never figure the importance of consent into sexual acts disturb me, and should disturb everyone.
No, well, that would break down their argument.
I get the feeling it just doesn’t enter their minds, or doesn’t matter to them; “family values” Christians who are anti-gay also tend to blame women for rape if they dress or act immodestly. I really do think some of them view sex in a very unsettling rape-apologist fashion, reflected both in their disrespect for women and fearful view of gay sex as all-prison-rape-all-the-time. Someone has to be subjugated for someone else to get off. Maybe I’m paranoid, but it’s a hard-to-shake suspicion.

You’re exactly right. You know what’s more? According to WGB, Frothy-Mix’s new campaign slogan is a quote taken from a poem written by Langston Hughes (famously gay poet.)
