   Very good research! I used to watch those movies of the genre “Peplum” in the afternoon when I was sick as a child or when my parents were not at home. Already back then I somehow enjoyed to see the often half-naked men in those movies.

   From the category “Spahgetti Western” I really enjoyed the Winnetou movies based on stories written by Karl May. The early films preceded the spaghetti western. I watched the movies several times with my brothers and my parents.

     Thanks for putting a name to the peplum / “sword and sandal” genre. I love those movies, but didn’t know it was an recognized genre or the name for it. Off to Netflix. Thanks.
