Doctor Who star Elisabeth Sladen, who portrayed Sarah Jane for over four decades, died aged 63.
She was a fan favorite and probably the most loved companion of the Doctor. I remember being a little kid and watching Doctor Who in the 70s and Sarah was remarkable because she was from the future- the 1980s!

This shouldn’t have made me cry like it did, but it did. 🙁
Poor K-9! She will be missed.
Sarah Jane was in the first Doctor Who story I watched (“Robot”) as a kid sometime in the mid 80s. She definitely was one of the reasons I got hooked on the show. Was delighted that she came back with the new series and was given her own spin-off series. It was great to see an older female lead cast as something of an action/adventure hero.
From her interviews, Elizabeth always came across as kind, thoughtful and vivacious–makes it more of a shock that she is gone.
