i heard him talking about his stories in Out in the bay. It was quite touching and he definitely had a lot to say too . Wish Feastoffun could get him on the show
Hmmm. Given my limited historical knowledge, I believe fasting would be politically effective only as part of a massive hunger / civil disobediance march- one that could be led by prominent figures in the mainstream gay spotlight, but that would ultimately depend on a clearly visible and substantial mass of people.
But at the same time, I remain skeptical of the ultimate effectiveness of ending DOMA when it comes to securing tangible sexual freedom. It seems that people have become willing to trade off this all-encompassing freedom in favor of certain political gains; while such gains are helpful in the short-run, they don’t really challenge heteronormativity itself. This is not to say that these mainstream poltical gains do not serve a useful purpose; rather, I am questioning the lack of a visible push for sexual freedom.
