this is nice that we started getting support internationally. I think it is not only gonna spread out info and help the other countries but also putting pressure on America in a new way to make a change. You cannot be ignorant when you see it everywhere and in every cultures right?
Andy: I think it depends on who you’re trying to convince. There’s a troubling tendency among some people in the US to sneer at what other countries are doing and go, “Well WE’RE American and we don’t DO that”; for example, the people who dissed John Kerry for “looking French”, and who are probably the ones shrieking to see Obama’s “real” birth certificate.
People like that were emboldened by Prez Bush’s unilateral cowboy-style politics, because it validated their limited worldview, but fortunately I think they’re diminishing in influence as the younger generation grows up and gains the right to vote, because they (the younger gen) are much more accepting of LGBT people and other ways of life. So even if the haters end up taking their narrow minds to the grave with them, they won’t succeed in passing them on.
No, no, seawall, it’s WE, WE “the younger generation.” Not “them.” lol
