  1. When i was listening to this episode i was having retro moments of my own. Of me when i first started listening in 2005. I am working hard to flip that shit 😛

  2. Tony says:

ooh Fausto, Ronnie, and whosomes; still loving your flippin shit. Your show is always my morning cup of crack while I get my daily grind started (not that kind).

    McLovin Ya!

  3. Cliff Dix says:

I know the disapointment you guys feel in America. Before George W., my eyes were only partially opened. I thought Democrats were the solution. Now I see that this isn’t even true. Almost all politicians are in bed with big corporations who are only intrested in the bottom line not us. The real solution is to educate yourself, stay healthy, and be vocal about your disappointment.

  4. I hate using the word “disappointment” to describe any nation. Mistakes get made, and we have to always be willing to forgive groups or individuals for the poor choices they make.

I personally belive that this country never chose George W Bush as a President and that both elections were poorly run with the GOP in power as an end result. But just because that happened, doesn’t mean we can’t create positive change anywhere.

As Bill Clinton once said, you don’t have to wait until your country has a favorable political climate in order to pursue your dreams of a better world.

  5. Fausto, omg, your’e a Trek fan and you haven’t been to Vegas to the Star Trek Experience? It is amazing. Now, I’m far from a Star Trek fan. I’ve watched most versions more than once and have a bit more than a passing knowledge of Star Trek, but it was truly entertaining. There are TONS of facts and artifacts from the show there. Plenty of photo opportunities.

But, the things that made it truly great for us when we got out there a couple years ago were the characters they had walking around. They are so much fun to screw with! Like, there was this Klingon female walking around and she was tough shit, I was truly scared to talk about her. Also, in the little restaurant at the end of the experience, we had a little nosh. The food was not exceptional, but the menu was a lot of fun to order from.

Now, while we’re sitting there, this Borg comes up to us at our table and was just standing there staring at us, waiting for us to acknowledge it. I don’t remember the exact exchange we had, I was probably a drink or two into lunch, but I remember the feeling of just being amazed at how knowledgeable and in character he was. And, the little “experience ride” you get to go on is a lot of fun too. And it’s slightly unpredicatable, without giving anything away.

You must go, stay at a cheap(er) hotel and see that, so much fun!

  6. Cliff Dix says:

Okay. I’ll take back the word disappointment. But like a lot of people, it wasn’t until it got really bad that I realized I hadn’t been paying attention. That is what I mean by educating oneself. Find out the facts. I do want the US to be the country I was raised to believe it was. I want the US to be for everyone and to be a positive influence on the world. I want us to all have the same rights. I do think we can get it back on track but it will take years to undo what has been done. So we need to get started now.

  7. Richard says:

Hey Ronnie and Fausto … I was thinking earlier today how much fun I had at the Starlight Lounge meet-and-greet. The show was fabulous. Fausto … I agree, while it is nice to think ahead to a time when we won’t have W, it’s important to live in the moment. Make choices now that are going to make your home, your neighborhood, your nation, and your world a better place.

BTW … I’m listening to you on my sexy iPhone … it’s awesome.

  8. Mo says:

Retro~ this show was on point for me. I am going through a time when I am in the process of deciding what I should do careerwise and I think that y’all brought some long-forgotten points to the surface as far happiness with you life goes. Once again great show!

  9. PupDon says:

Okay, I just started listening to this show and before I even get past the opening I have to say that hearing the opening bars of Dream by Baby Teeth brought back so many memories. I almost started to tear up. I started listening to the show when I got my first iPod, right after I almost died from a horrible appendix problem. Talk about looking at life through new eyes and having those eyes be tinted blue. I’m so happy to have you guys in my life. This also reminded me of the time the lights went out and Fausto and V-marr sang it at the piano. That is still one of my favorite moments of FOF. Well, that and Miss Ronnie’s rant about the “successful” penis transplant. Oh you guys just make my day.

  10. Alec says:

You two were really on this time around – y’all are always good, but there are times that the talk just flows right on the show. Nice job. (Sorry ’bout the diatribe on Venezuelan TV – I was a little upset that day). Going through a little transition myself, so appreciate the focus on … focus.

  11. Jason says:

Fausto, you always bring it back. I loved your line today about how you won’t eat anything that was thinking, tasting, or digesting. Puerto Ricans don’t let anything go to waste, but I have to say I’m a little more American in that respect.

One thing though, I have to disagree with your notion that people can’t and shouldn’t love (or hate), and consequently be disappointed in their nation. I mean, you HAVE to love (or hate) your nation if you’re going to work to improve it. The problem today is that people *don’t* love (or hate) their nation. If they did, things wouldn’t be like this. I mean, think about it this way, if you are just existing, if this is just a place to live, then what does it matter, what does one care if there is rampant social injustice. If more people truly loved this nation, like Miss Ronnie says, loved the *notion* that is America, more people would care. And, in our history, a lot of people have cared…our founding fathers, the many people who died to make this nation the land of the free… We have to care because if we don’t we won’t make it better!

I think you’re right in that people shouldn’t be disappointed. Disappointment is something that you feel when someone ELSE has let you down. Well, this is OUR nation, and if *we* don’t take our personal stake in it and *flip this shit,* then it will never change. Don’t be disappointed people, do something about it!

I will leave you with this Fausto…you always make me think. 🙂

    OK, I’m done.

    No wonder people hate lawyers!

  12. Nick says:

I thought that pig intestines were called Chittlines pronounced Chit-lins or Shit-lins. I’ve never had it though.

  13. \:D/ What happened to the girl I married? \:D/

  14. Trey says:

Miss Ronnie – I am once again so impressed by your compassion for life and for helping others. You are an amazing woman, and I take my hat off to you!

  15. What happened to the girl you married? She hit you on the head with her frying pan.

  16. Ivan says:

So True.. I LOVE the Flip that Sh*t episode… it’s just nice in a way.. I don’t know how to explain =P oops.. =D

  17. Hi guys,
I just got done listening to this episode and let me just tell you, if karma plays any factor in our destinies, you all deserve to be rich and famous! I was just telling my friend that life is too short to waste on a job that doesn’t fulfill you, and here you guys go and tape this podcast. Its like you read my mind! I’ve been listening to you now for well over a year, and Fausto, you have so much passion for this show and all your listeners…it feels like you’re just some friends, not a sexy podcasting couple all the way in Chicago 🙁

Anyway, my point is, you rock my socks!

Thanks for doing this awesome show. There is none other like it! Fausto don’t forget us when you become richer than Oprah (can you make her your bitch?)

    Besos y abrazos

  18. Hari says:

For what it’s worth, the US (6.4 per 1000 live births) has a higher rate of infant mortality than Canada (4.6), but certainly higher than Mexico (19.6).

In general, I think the quality of healthcare offered in the US is very good, but I agree that there’s a great deal of dispersion when it comes to access to care

  19. Corey says:

Loved the show! You and Ronnie have such great chemestry together!

  20. Thank you for the love Cuban Chick! We do these shows just for you and only you.

By the way, where is your FOF profile?

  21. You are correct, Nick. I think the proper term for pig intestines is “Chitterlings,” but the name evolved into the slang term “Chitlins.”

  22. I fixed it Fausto, I fixed it!!! Yay!

  23. Oooh, NICE Cuban Chik!
