One of the more fascinating aspects on Sharon Needles’ debut album PG-13 is her collaboration with theremin player Armen Ra.
Listen as we talk with Armen Ra from his home in Hollywood about his incredible life, his deep friendship with Amanda Lepore, the death of the New York City nightclub scene in the mid 90s and his friendship with murderer Michael Alig, portrayed in the film Party Monster.

Delightful! I’d only heard in passing of Armen Ra, but I’m newly a fan! My electronic music prof Maggi Payne was the first person I saw play a theremin, and it’s so unique and cool. Armen is inspiring and deserves all the success in his future ventures. 🙂
Also, who doesn’t love Honey Boo Boo? To relate it to a theme in this story, the Thompsons seem like the modern-day redneck version of the Addams family: they don’t care what the norms think of them, they just love each other and get on great. Again, inspiring 😉
Yeah I’m really grooving to his music too.
I loved this show, wow. I loved his voice, stories and music. Condragulation guys 😀
