More so than any other year, the fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race were heartbroken watching the first queen of the season go home. RuPaul may have sent Arizona drag queen Tempest DuJour packing but it’s clear that this drag daddy has much more to give.
Listen as we chat with Tempest about being a father to two beautiful children, teaching costume design at the University of Arizona and gobble gobble, her turkey named Istanbul.

Loved the show. It was a shame that Temepest DuJour was first to go. I was hoping to see more of her.
I’m trying to wrap my head around what RuPaul was thinking with this nude challenge. Is this the vulnerability that the judges keep asking for? Maybe it’s the illusion factor. Drag is in a way, an illusion, and part of the challenge was to provide the illusion of a nude female. Whatever the case, not sure if WOW and RuPaul thought this one through.
As for Candy Ho and her asking about Tempest’s age…I can see how that was taken as rude and inappropriate. However, all of us at one time or another have said things we wish we could take back. I know I have. Kandy said what she said, apologized and Tempest is fine. Why do people feel the need to have roast Candy for lunch? Move on people. Get off the computer and read a book! I’ll get off my soapbox now.
Wishing you continued luck with CWDG! Can’t wait to see the episodes. I did subscribe on YouTube. Love you both!

Tempest Dujour is such a delight. And an inspiration. It makes me sad that there are fishy, vapid queens who get to stay who offer nothing beyond their ability to look like a woman when queens like Tempest have so much to offer not only in talent but in lessons about life. It makes me really evaluate what this show is about. I find it disheartening that yet again another queen of a certain age was eliminated, i.e. Victoria Porkchop Parker and Kelly Mantle. I instantly fell in love with Tempest the moment her baby fell out of her fauxgina but I got nervous when too much of her back story was revealed.
Tempest I am happy that you are here and doing what you love. I am happy that you have a wonderful family. You give guys like me hope that there is the chance to find a partner and start a family. Hope things continue to go well for you!
Fausto and Marc, I must say. I listen to a lot of podcasts. A LOT. But none of them have the ability to deliver original content four to five times a week. You guys continue to amaze me! Please keep doing what you do! You are making history whether you realize it or not! I love you guys and wish you nothing but the best!
Tempest Du Jour is an amazing human being. It’s a real shame she didn’t get to stay longer on the show. I feel that she has so much to teach to those young queens. What a shame!
I wish Ru could use her powers to bring back Tempest and turn this show up side down just like a hurricane.
What an awesome and honest show.
Great show. I have become a fan of Drag Race because of your show. I wouldn’t normally comment on something like this and I don’t want to come across as the French language police but I have herd you say several times on your show that chanter or chanté means enchanted in French. It doesn’t. Chanter is the verb to sing and chanté is the past participle of the verb chanter and would translate to the English word sung. Enchanted is almost the same word in both languages and is enchanter in French with enchanté being the past participle.
… Sorry battery died before I finished.
No doubt, or I can probably be so bold as to say, without a doubt, your use of this word comes from RuPaul. RuPaul’s famous song from the early ’90s” Supermodel” uses the what sounds like the word chanter. I have seen lyrics and references to the word written as chanter, chanté, chantez, (french words) and shantay and various other made up spellings to represent the word. I have no idea what the actual word in the song is as more than likely creative license is being used in which case it can be spelled whatever way they want it to be and mean whatever they want as well.
I apologize for my rant.
Great show! It’s sad that anyone has to be eliminated first, but it is the nature of the competition reality show beast. I do like the idea of an “Allstars” version with first and second elminated queens. So many just didn’t have any time to leave their mark. Of course then someone will the first eliminated queen off of that show too.
