It takes a village to dress a drag queen. Behind every fierce drag queen there’s an even fiercer queen helping her to look her best. For years Steven Perfidia Kirkham has styled wigs for some of Broadway’s biggest shows and many of your favorite drag queens and entertainers.

Today Perfidia, wig stylist to the stars, joins us to talk about all the glorious big wigs from Lady Bunny to RuPaul, and what it was like in the Wigstock and Club Kid scenes of the 90s.

FOF #2174 – Tom Goss Can’t Wait

Our lovely friend, musician Tom Goss packed up his guitar and husband Mike and moved to Beverly, Hills that is- Bryan Singer pool parties, and porneau stars. Tom moved to L.A. to dive into the wonderful community of artists living there and he’s loving every minute of it!

Neil Patrick Harris won a Tony Award for starring in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway, but we all know the real star is the spectacular wig design of Mike Potter.

The task of styling these magnificent wigs for the show goes to legendary NY drag queen Perfidia. Listen as Perfidia gives us a behind the scenes tour of what it’s like styling wigs for the show, working with the all the Hedwigs, and did she ever solve Broadway’s biggest mystery- the case of the stolen Hedwig wig.

Things are going great for Jinkx Monsoon. First she won RuPaul’s Drag Race and the $100,000 grand prize. Then an off Broadway theater asked her to do a one woman show for just one night, but instead she got them to agree to restage The Vaudevillians, a cabaret show she developed years ago with her best pal Major Scales.
