Honestly, what did they expect her to do– cancel the concert? All those people bought tickets and now they’d NOT get to see the show? This is, again, why I think boycotts do not work. They hurt far too many people who have nothing to do with the boycott itself. There are other ways to get the message across when we are angry about the way things go in the world. This is just not one of them.

  2. I was at the show and she brought this up. She said she got calls from lots of pop stars asking her to cancel. She told us (the audience) that she told them, “do you really think pop stars can collapse the economy of Arizona?”

She said she wouldn’t boycott Arizona but would instead be active to peaceably protest the law. (which was struck down by a federal judge, by the way.)

As usual, Lady Gaga is spot on and has shown she gets the big picture. I liked her before I went to the show but I like her even more now. Her thoughtful words and support are what Arizona needs.

I was also there with Seth, and agree Lady Gaga made the right decision. She may push the envelope in her music and videos, but tonight she demonstrated that she’s talented *and* a class act. I am forever a fan.
