I’m a grad student pursuing my PhD in chemistry. I live in Good Ole Mississippi, but I party in the Big Easy. I’m usually pretty introverted, except when it comes to gay rights. In which case, like Mark and Fausto say, “Like Rupaul says, ‘You better help a bitch hide the bodies!’” Most importantly, my favorite drag queen is Lady Bunny!

I heard this for the first time on the way into work this evening. The DJ gave a long and unexpected introduction to the song. In her own somewhat crude way, she did it justice. I like the band, and I like them even more now. Full kudos to Rise Against — they are getting a lot of views on Youtube.
No, I am not gay, but through helping my daughter with finding a song for her class, I found this song, and through it, I found such a strong message. This song does not only go out to those who are gay, but, to those who are different and mistaken and not understood for the person who they are. Such a Powerful Message. And to those who need to hear words of encouragement… Look within your inner self and grab the strength that you find there and let no one strip away your pride!
