We just think Eric Himan is one of the most handsome, attractive, talented, kind, sweet, handsome musicians we’ve ever had the pleasure to have on our show. Did I mention he’s handsome? Everyone’s favorite folk/soul/rock […]

I stayed up late to hear this one… and I was SO NOT DISAPPOINTED (not that I expected to be, of course)! I always love when Eric Himan is on the show… and this was, by far, my favorite of all of his visits. I really enjoyed his new songs and look forward to buying his new album when it’s released.

I’m so impressed with Eric’s outlook on celebrity, fame, and the industry. He really has his head on right about everything and that resonates through his music and how he interacts with his fans. And the fact that he embraces new mediums and technologies (like the Feast of Fools) proves even more that he really knows his stuff.

Plus he’s damn sexy and amazingly talented. What else can you ask for?

Fantastic show guys. I’m going to bed with a big smile on my face, thanks to Feast of Fools. 🙂

  2. Good morning Feast of Fools, sitting here drinking my kkkkkafinated coffee. Great show. I agree with Eric I still love a physical CD. The sound is superior and the artwork and liner notes are always nice to look at while listening. It makes listening to music a more tactile experience. Instead of just clicking a button there is a physical process of opening the product and there is a smell that a new cd has much in the same way a book has a scent. I love my Ipod(loaded with rockbox firmware) but I still like to go back to the cd at least daily. American Idol is boring me this season… Christian is going to win it all babies!

  3. Eric Himan ROCKS!!! I loved the interview guys AND the live music to boot! I wish he were coming back to Atlanta soon but alas, not yet. We got to see and hear him at Pride last year. He is so down to earth and at ease always. Can’t wait for more music from him. T shirts too…gotta have one.
Thanks again guys for creating the BEST shows!

  4. Tony says:

Oh lawrdie, Eric is soo hot he can make a 12yr old bleed before her time! I think I went red just listening to his singing voice that I need some “special time”.

    Oh, great show too.

  5. Love the show and love Eric Himan! (seen him 15 times live yay!)

Anyway! I still buy my music on vinyl records! I have the Latest from Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and lots more all on LP!!!!! I hook the record player up to my computer to rip them to mp3\’s for the road but at home its all analog. Virgin Records, Amazon and Ebay are great places to buy. Last year CD sales dropped 20% and vinyl record sales jumped up 30%. Vinyl is on the comeback Woot

Keep up the show! I\’ll be listening to you between the vinyl 🙂

  6. oh and you can get Black Eyed Peas on Vinyl too!

  7. SAL-E says:

    Eric is a Hottie……………………….

  8. Cory says:

Mmmmmm…Mmmm!!! I’m so envious of Marc and Fausto. I’d love to have me some of that in my living room.
Great interview. Eric has a great personality that makes for a fun show, and I love his music. I’ll be sure to buy some via the FOF itunes link.

I’d just like to know if Fausto really got to smell his armpit? The arm pit is a sexy part of the body and I wouldn’t pass on that opportunity.

  9. I don’t sniff and tell…

  10. Jonas says:

I haven’t listened to the show yet, but I already know I’ll enjoy listening to Eric Himan talk… He looks edible.

  11. Cliff Dix says:

Eric was great at last year’s Atlanta Gay Pride. I remember he did a cover of a Dolly Parton song which was terrific. He is so talented and easy on the eyes. I hope he comes back soon would love to see him perform again.
Loved the Breakdown 2008 with him playing his own background music.

  12. I’m riding home from the candlelight vigil for Larry King, the 14 yo victim of a hate crime and this show comes on my ipod and I hear Eric talk about how amazing it is to have 14 yos come out and be OK with who they are, and then I feel the hurt of Larry’s friends crying as they threw flowers off the Ventura pier, and it all just makes me wonder, will it ever be OK for ALL peoples to be their-selves?

  13. I wrote this to someone today:
Larry’s death is so sad. It reminds me of what someone said “the future is here, it’s just not evenly distributed”

These young kids come out so early now and some other people just can’t handle it. The kid that shot him
is probably queer or questioning himself. When I look back on guys who bullied me, they seem really gay in retrospect.

What else can we do but keep on doing what we are doing – only better?

  14. Eric has such a great personality. he was so fun to listen too. and his new songs are pretty good! great show guys!

  15. I spread this episode out over two days, because I didn\’t want it to end.
And I loved how he mixed his words with chords on the guitar.
Eric\’s so bright with energy, I expect him to go supernova at any minute.

    My favorite line:
FoF: \”What happens when we die?\”
    Eric: \”We become flowers.\”

(Awwwww – everyone melt on the count of 3.)

  16. xio says:

I love Eric Himan! he\’s the best ^^

I\’m still enjoying the show so don\’t have alot to say right now.

  17. As always it is a pleasure to hear Eric on the show, he projects a persona of warmth and caring. I feel like I\’m wrapped in a blanket of love. Of course him being such a hottie helps and the music never fails to move me. MORE!

  18. jarzium says:

damn if he lets you smile his armpit! what a turn on!! i like how he seems to comfortable in this show!!

  19. Ventura79 says:

MARC those guns of urs are looking GOOD!!!! keep up the good work!!!!
Great Show with Eric, love his songs, they have a message everyone should hear

    MUAH!

  20. Marc – On the show you mentioned that one of Queen’s band members (I think you said Brian May) just announced that he just realized that Freddie Mercury was gay. I was hoping you could send me a link to that article. I’m very interested in it because I’m a huge fan on Queen and Freddie Mercury and from all the books I’ve read on Queen and Freddie Mercury (see my profile for my favorite book about Freddie) say that he was seeing men back when all the band members were in art school.

Also, Freddie Mercury never publically admitted that he was gay. He did, however, admit to having AIDS the day before he died. How tragic… Any way, I’ve got ALL the gossip

  21. nester623 says:

OMG! I was blown away by Eric’s talent. He also has the cutest laugh ever!

  22. This was a great show. I really liked Eric’s personality, his voice, and the way you all three seemed relaxed with each other. How fun to have his guitar throughout the show. Nicely done everybody!

  23. Tallguy says:

Another great podcast. I love it when Eric is on the show. That first song he played on this podcast was great. I have all of his cd’s (bought through your site on itunes). I just wish he could make it down to the Southeast. I would love to see a live show of his. Keep up the good work.

  24. Leon says:

I loved Eric on the show, he sounds awesome and just meshed so well with you guys. Thank you!

  25. DCRyan says:

I have to say that although I liked Eric’s first album when I heard it on FOF I liked it but it wasn’t really my sound. But after hearing some of the songs on today’s show you have me a true believer, such amazing lyrics, I’m buying the cd on Itunes now.

Great show, Eric is sooooo dreamy too.

  26. Another great show guys! Eric is a total hottie and his ink ROCKS! Great style. Gotta check out his site to see if he is coming to Dallas area. He looks great in the new shirt.

  27. Richard says:

Wow, the lyrics to that first song are nerve-striking, aren’t they? Eric’s voice is so wonderful. I can’t tell you how many times I listened to him sing the first four bars of “Against All Odds” over and over again. I *love* that song. Wish I could hear the whole thing! And he’s such a fun guy and a frickin’ hottie to boot! I hope to see more of him on the show. (Double entendre intended, lol.)

  28. Zoomer says:

Fausto, you KILL on that tambourine!!! I have tambourine envy.

  29. Terry says:

The new songs were fun to play live and can’t wait to take them out on the road this spring.
And Fausto and Marc, I will always be the Paul Shafer to your David Letterman(s)!

  33. Flmustang says:

Eric, Eric ,Eric. hmmm. You are always great to have on the show. When are you going to realize that I am the Southern Man of your dreams and come see me ?

  34. Isaac says:

I don’t know what everyone else was thinking, but when I was listening to this show I just wanted to butt in and say, just because someone lip synchs on stage does not mean they have no “real talent” to deliver a live performance. Needless to say, there are different types of genres in this business, and to preserve the illusion, texture and special effects in pop music that are created in a professional studio and brought to you in a CD jewel case, it is sometimes necessary to resort to this practice. I am not an experienced recording artist or performer, but seriously, do you really need to be one to understand that Britney Spears couldn’t POSSIBLY be singing live and delivering proper pitch and tone while contorting her abs — okay, when she had ’em — and spinning herself in full circles?

I have respect for certain artists like Sarah Brightman, who can capture the audience on stage with a visual experience that is all her own AND deliver a solid vocal performance, but live singing has been and will always be essential to the classical tradition that she is constantly pointing back to. You can’t apply and compare pop music to the same performance standards as classical music — different production methods yield different results!

Thank you, Fausto and Marc, for another wonderful podcast! Your interviews and discussions are always provoking as they are insightful 🙂

    XoXo,
    Isaac
