Woohoo!!! Welcome back to the world 🙂
best looking first family EVER.
Fausto, how did you wind up next to Chris North in the thick of the crowd? Where was Marc?
What do you think of the after suggestions for Chicago party people?

I’m going through a roller coaster of emotions right now. I cried, was elated, overjoyed when Obama won. But as the night went on I felt disappointed that Prop 8 passed. Tears of joy quickly became tears of sadness. I guess we must fight one battle at a time. Even driving home tonight I seen people putting up signs to vote Yes on 8, with only two hours left to vote! It’s truly a mind fuck.
Edit: At this moment prop 8 hasn’t passed. But there is a difference of 300,000+ votes and of the 6 or so precincts the majority are for the prop. So it doesn’t look promising.
I am so excited for you guys, I hope the dollar stays low though so I can come visit.
IT was a BIRTHDAY PARTY fausto ahahahahahah.. silly.
I feel happy, relieved and excited that Obama became president of the USA. Even it will be a long way go to, I am sure it will be the right way and things will get better.
But I feel bad for gay people in America that Prop 8 and Prop 102 passed. 🙁
Why? Why those bible basher cannot just tolerate gay people and let them get married. Why they have to spread always negativity?
As Fausto said way back in January, Stop the hate in 2008. I think Obama is a step in the right direction. And is true that we can not sit back and expect Obama to take care of us. We have to really fight for our rights to simply be equal with other Americans.
I must add I am very disappointed in Georgia. Although Atlanta and the surrounding counties did go to Obama it just wasn’t enough. I was so mad this morning I wanted to pack my bags and move out of this backwoods redneck bigoted bible thumping state.
Focus on the love folks- Obama won. There is so much to celebrate! We now have to work hard and push for Health Care.
So what happens to the hundreds of thousands of queer couples who have been married?
I am so torn. I so amazingly happy that Obama won. I can’t stop crying… so so happy.
and yet there is this horrible feeling deep in my gut about Prop 8. It amazes me that people can be so selfish..
Another battle lost, but the war is not over.. not a war of guns and violence (i hope) but one fought with compassion and kindness and hope. Trying so hard to focus on the positive because it is a great and wonderful day for the world.
No one can know what will happen to those who have already married because it is a novel legal issue, but from what I hear it is likely their marriages will be invalidated unless the CA Supreme Court does something to overturn the proposition.
BTW I love it when you boys have little tiff’s on air, so frickin adorable.
Well, we’ll do it more often then!
i fell asleep listening to this last night.. thanks so much for the Chicago report, it was very uplifting after the ambivalence about the election.
Hours before — parties broke out into the streets all over San Francisco. Everywhere, people were suddenly going outside, calling out for Obama, honking their horns, waving and sharing the excitement. I suddenly realized, for the first time in 8 years, a US president will probably be visiting San Francisco, and a city famous for its Pacifism leanings, could be rewarded with peace.
In the Castro the usual street party ensued and although prop 8 didn’t pass, people concentrated on the direction and movement the nation was heading towards.
On a stage at the top of Castro and Market street, Mark Leno talked about the shrinking margins since prop 22 was passed 8 years ago, the loss was by over 20% back then.
Supervisor Bevan Dufty surprised me by mentioned how he had worked on Shirley Chisolm’s ’72 presidential campaign as a 21 year old, again bringing to mind the long journey so many have seen through to this historic moment.
Then this morning I found out that voter turnout was less than 50% in San Francisco. Can we say we SUCK any louder?!?
I suck.
edits! “pacifist leanings…” and “surprised me by mentioning”
omg, i’m sooo happy about this.
i volunteered for the campaign since august and i am SO happy that obama won. it was clearly the right choice for america. i can’t wait to see how things play out.
Hey congratulation on the election to all of you! in Canada we are very happy to see the Result.
and Fausto you predict it well…….lol
You guys did better then here, in canada, we still have are Harper…….!
HI 5!
LOve JOse
Updates on challenges to Prop 8: So my friend who actually worked on a petition to the CA Supreme Court to remove Prop 8 from the ballot had this to say about future legal challenges to the proposition.
“The Court can overturn the proposition on the grounds that the initiative overturns not one but two issues. It defines gay marriage and it overturns the heightened scrutiny given to gays in the In Re Marriages Case. We tried that argument pre-November but the Court, unwilling usually to take things off the ballot, threw the petition out. That said, the chances are not good. The Court was divided on the issue and it was a narrow victory in May. “
After coming down from the high of last night (and resting and repairing my voice – man I sounded hoarse in this show!) I am now starting to feel remorse about the Prop 8 situation. The problem I’m having with it is, I wish there was more we — those of us not living in California — could have done. Sometimes giving money isn’t possible… I know for me lately it’s been IMpossible… but what more could we have done as a community to rally together and make sure this didn’t pass?
Fausto and Marc have been working on this for months. They have been fighting against it, talking about it, and drumming up as much support as possible to kill that proposition. I also know of fellow FoF listeners who had “No on Prop 8” parties to help drum up support and raise funds. Was that enough? Could we have done more?
I think the main problem here is, we were so focused on electing Barack Obama as our next president that Prop 8 sort of fell to the wayside. If this had been any other election, Prop 8 would have been given our full attention.
In the end, I chalk it up to bad timing on Prop 8’s part. But I am not without hope. Electing Barack Obama was a huge step in the right direction. I can’t help but remain hopeful that, in the coming months, or years… we will see the equality we deserve.
Thanks, guys, for allowing me to do the show with you again. I enjoyed it, as always — even when you had your little tiff. 🙂
lmao My mom and I were talking about her dress too.. To me, she looked a bit like a black widow spider or something 😛
when I found out it was obama, I seriously couldn’t stop dancing for about 20 minutes.. I was SO happy.. I wish I could have been in Chicago to celebrate with you guys!
Michelle’s dress was from the Narciso Rodriguez Spring 09 collection — it’s not even in stores yet

hey guys ! loved the show today! thanks for staying up late and doing it!
I really loved the show. Such a historic moment, and you guys did a wonderful job of capturing the joyful mood. I too, though, am sad here in LA, because of the Prop 8 news. But I have to admit, when you guys were talking about the Birthday/Wedding debate, I completely forgot about Prop 8. I can completely see Fausto’s view point, and also Marc’s. I look at it this way, Fausto is like a graceful, colorful and soaring kite. Full of life and joyful fun. And Marc is on the ground, holding onto the string, and his skills and humor puts on a great show. I love you both, and you guys make a such adorable couple.
Its always great to have Rick on the show too. Sure wish he could contact Piss Miggy to get her thoughts on the past events. Haven’t heard from her in while. Is she still reading movie scripts by the Beverly Hills pool? lol
Michelle`s dress was superb. I loved it and did you notice her daughers were in red and in black. The dress was edgy and unafraid, that`s what I want to see.
I think Fausto won the spat because he didn`t lose his temper. Mark sounded a but soused. Get those panda outfits on and roll around a bit.
Obama will finally bring back some respect to America and hopefully Cheney and Rumsfeld will be jailed. I hope Obama finds a job for Colin Powell.
Thanks for having me on the show, boys! I’m so elated that Barack Obama will be our next president!! What an opportunity it was to be downtown in Grant Park and witness the next chapter in our country’s history.
I’m so envious of all Americans, especially those of you who were there in Grant Park last night. Go Chicago, go!
That dress was an eyesore! Actually, after seeing it a couple of days, I’m beginning to like it.
Michelle Obama is so beautiful, she could make a potato sack look chic.
I was very happy to forecast a favorable election results, instead of the past two elections.
I don’t claim to be psychic, I’m just a very good guesser when it comes to these things. I think a lot has to do with how the candidate captures the nation’s mood, hopes and desires. It’s all about mindshare. I do think Sarah Palin did hurt their chances, but only a little. Because she was so bat-shit crazy, everyone loved to talk about it.
I’m sad that Sarah Palin isn’t running for office anymore, but deliriously happy that she’s gone. Now if Alaska can get rid of their bytch to nowhere.
Do the show a buzzed in the middle of the night more often! That was fun.
Now, about Michelle’s dress…it’s a good think Mr. Blackwell died or she would have been an easy winner for his best of the worst dressed list. Are you kidding me!
Hopefully Caroline Kennedy or even Oprah will help her out a little in the wardrobe department.
Marc, you have the patience of a saint!
Thank you!
Mark and Fausto fight.
