J Seth Anderson and Michael Ferguson were the first same sex couple to be legally married in the state of Utah, home of the Mormon church which poured millions into measures nationwide that aimed to deny people the right to marry.
More recently Michael successfully sued his former conversion therapist for fraud and permanently shut down the organization in the state of New Jersey. Listen as they talk about overcoming all the horrible trauma they sustained as gay men in the Mormon church.

A fabulous and moving episode, boys. Thank you for the great show.
Congrats Seth and Michael!
I totally knew others in the ex-gay movement who did ‘cuddle therapy’. The ex-gay group I was in definitely subscribed to the pseudoscientific theory of ‘healing your sexual identity through healthy affirming male touch’. It didn’t take. I like affirming male touch.
My Christian counselor gave up on me the minute I mentioned the word ‘suicidal’ in my second session. I guess I should count myself lucky that I was only abandoned by my therapist, but it didn’t feel good at the time.
Thanks for sharing your story, fellas. I laughed, and I cried.
Yes, most Bernie supporters will vote for Hilary if she is nominated, and vice versa. It doesn’t matter which candidate wins the White House if we don’t retake the House.
I’m in Melbourne and I was listening to this episode while walking around the centre.
You were talking about mormons, referring to The Book of Mormon musical and look at the tram that passed by at that very moment! We really are all connected in the great circle of life 😉
Great show, moving and thoughtful!
