Today we’re joined by writer and zine publisher Larry-bob Roberts, who for over two decades has been boldly creating a cultural ecosystem for alternative gay voices in zines and blogs.

His new book- “The International Homosexual Conspiracy,” a collection of rants on a wide range of topics, from getting turned on by your own bully to the mainstreaming of underground culture.

Loved the episode and the song at the end of the show, “Your new stupid boyfriend”. Some gay couples, particular new gay couples can be really annoying. They often think they can judge Singles and feel somehow better because they are a couple.

I thought Larry’s “are you a boring mainstream homo” quiz was rather cynical and unhelpful. It basically listed every mainstream stereotype of gays (drug users, promiscuous, apolitical, fashion obsessed). Obviously these people do exist- often in their own small self-obsessed circles on the coasts. And I understand this is a culture that has been acquired by corporations in branding in order to attract gay money. But it seems Larry needs to take a better look at what’s around him. I find that most homo’s are NOT boring mainstream homo’s. We are artistic, intellectual, sensitive, political- and one can be all those things and STILL like dance music!!!!

Larry-Bob Robers was a hoot along with his singing. Really enjoyed this show.
